The two things which have been unearthed by the Bersih rally on the 9th July 2011 is:-

No.1 The Malaysian Government (and the PDRM) IS AS STUPID as we always thought they were.

What is Bersih all about? Calling for free and fair election. It is every citizen's right to ensure their votes are counted. Every citizen's wish to have the election reflect accurately whom they want to lead them in the country. Every LIVING citizen's hope (and greatest fear) that dead people don't wake and vote during the election. So, why the heavy handedness? Why do you find the need to deploy so many policemen to arrest peaceful protesters? The rest of Malaysia went about as usual. People getting killed, robbed and cheated. Why not ask the police to do actual police work?

Why do you say Bersih has ignored the Agong's advice when the Agong told them to do it in the stadium, and the PM goes "sure use the stadium" and then recoil and say Bersih is an illegal organisation and they can't hold it in the stadium? What is up with that?

And clearly to right thinking citizens with even HALF the brain size necessary, understand that if you stop ANY traffic from going INTO the Kuala Lumpur area, everybody will have to go on foot. Unfortunately, when these people go on foot, it immediately became an "illegal gathering" and "street protest". You see, if you allowed traffic to move along as usual, most of them would really have preferred to drive. Really. It rained you know? Would've been nice to drive to Stadium Merdeka. But NO, you MADE them walk. You left them no choice. So they walked. And they walked peacefully. And then you started throwing tear gas at them and spraying chemical laced water.

In between all the chaos created by nobody but the PDRM, they allowed a man to lie on the road, unattended, to die. After all, doing one's job in crushing the so called "anti-government" rally (which really was a citizen's march for free and fair elections) is more important than being humane. How can you stand there saying you want to uphold justice and fairness in your blue PDRM uniform when you don't even have an inch of compassion and humanity to help a man suffering a heart attack??

How do you expect the rakyat to wake up on the 10th July 2011 and think that the police are here to protect us when they were to quick to do all necessary, on demand by the government? It is NOT the government who is paying you. It is NOT the government who you have sworn to protect. It is the RAKYAT whom you have pledged to protect and it is exactly the rakyat whom you have let down.

No.2 The government thinks that us Malaysians are a bunch of idiots.

They say "No physical contact between the police and protesters"
And we see:

They say "the police were really professional"
And we see:
Yeah sure. Because not only are we idiots, apparently the we are blind too.

They say:- Only 6000 people turned up
When even a small boy of 4 years old who can count will tell you at least 10k to 20k people turned up.

They say:- Police didn't fire tear gas into the hospital.
And when showed videos and photos of police doing just that
They say: It was done to protect the patients in side.
And when challenged that that must be one of the stupidest statement to have come out of a mouth of any minister (and there are quite a lot of those)
They say: The videos and photos are NOT true.

Because us Malaysians are idiots. We cannot believe what we see, what we hear and what we feel (for those who were present on that day) but we MUST believe what the Governments tells us to see, hear and feel.

So my dear friends, why would you trust a government who LIES to you? Why would allow your government to treat you like an imbecile? Why would you support a government who cannot admit its own mistakes? Why would you think highly of a leader who would say anything just to remain in power? Why would you trust you safety and your life and liberty in the hands of those who have wronged so many of our fellow citizens on the orders of the government? WHY?

If anything, in another 6 months, Bersih may no longer be on anybody's lips. But the fact that the government has LIED to and ABUSED its citizens should forever be etched in our minds.

Only YOU can effect change. Do not sit there and think "it's not my problem."

When you neighbour's house gets broken into and his whole family killed, it isn't your problem either. That is until the perpetrator whom has stayed free (because its not your problem and you shouldn't bother to bring him to justice) comes back and do exactly that to your home and your family. Then it is TOO LATE to do anything about it.

Think. That is all Bersih is asking you to do.

THINK of your future and what you want from it and what you want for your kids to get from it.

Make a choice.

The Bersih rally has come and gone.

I am no supporter of street demonstrations for I am of the opinion that it does nothing to prove one's believes or one's stand on something. But while I may not agree to participate in the street protests, I do not disagree to others choosing to participate in it. If you think marching the streets will be your way of telling the Government "ups yours!", by all means, don your yellow shirts and march the hell out of the streets.

Many of us have woken up on the 9th July 2011 groaning that we probably can't do our usual visit to the malls in Kuala Lumpur due to the massive traffic jams and road closures. We whine in protest that the LRT will not take us to where we want to go due to the station closures. We roll our eyes in resignation when we hear of the inconveniences that the Bersih supporters have caused us.

But truly, what is it that Bersih stands for? Bersih in the shortest summary possible, stands for free and fair elections. Is that such an objectionable idea? Why then do so many people of intellect reject this notion? Why do our countries top politicians deny the demands of Bersih? Who in their right mind would say NO to free and fair elections?

Clearly, one who have played dirty politics all these while.

The PM tells us, if we "tweaked" the election process, the opposition would not have won Selangor. If we meddled with the election results, PAS would not have retained Kelantan for so many years. But the truth is that these victories were landslide victories. It would be hard to switch a tick next to DAP/PAS/PKR to one for BN on a thousand or a hundred thousand balloting papers. But it would not be impossible to switch on a few hundred. After all, we only need ONE vote to separate the winner from the loser.

How many of us have flipped through newspapers during the elections and saw nothing but government propaganda. How many of us have only seen the faces of those campaigning under the BN flag? How many of us have been victims of unfair and biased reporting by our major dailies? Bersih demands that there should be equal opportunities for all parties to campaign. Information should be disseminated to the public fairly. We should be inundated with the BN campaign and the BN campaign alone.

But you know what? These words mean nothing to the the poor man trying to eke out a living, or the yuppie who has just received a scholarship from the government to further her studies, or the professional who has a great job in a GLC. It means nothing to be "anti government". After all, life could be worse off in other countries. We are peaceful, we have opportunities, we have everything we could ask for. So why rock the boat?

Simply because, I do not want to wake up in the morning and see that another one of our fellow citizen has fallen to his death at the foot of the MACC building- and nobody wants to take responsibility for it.

I hate to wake up and be told (again!) that our petrol prices have increased because the government can no longer afford to subsidize us. A country who can among others, spend RM1billion on the new palatial Palace for the Agong, RM17million for the PM (and his wife) to travel around the world (and take the opportunity to attend their daughter's graduation and wedding while out on "official visits"), build a worthless 100 storey building, and buy Rm100m jet engines which somehow goes missing.

I hate to wake up and be told that because I posted something which insulted our PM I would now be detained under the ISA and be held indefinitely without trial.

I would hate to bring up my children in a country where you know the judiciary can be made to follow the will of the party in power.

I would hate to live in a country where religion is thrown in your face to ensure political power is maintained.

You do not have to support Bersih and what it stands for. But you should support your right as a citizen of Malaysia to not have to answer to a corrupt and racist government. Choose to wake up to a Malaysia where you can be any race and religion that you want and live as an equal citizen. Choose to wake up to a Malaysia where your hard earned money goes to projects which will benefit you as a citizen, and not to the pockets of the politicians.

Screw 1Malaysia and its false propaganda.

I have come across many sites in which racism flourish and is encouraged. One such site is ohtidak.com where the articles and comments have racism running riot and is in fact encouraged.

I think this post has to be written in (my passable) BM to answer to all these racism.

Ingatkah anda apabila pengetua sekolah di Kedah dan Johor Bahru menyuruh budak sekolah berbangsa Cina untuk balik ke Cina ? Dan juga menyatakan bahawa Malaysia ini kepunyaan bangsa Melayu dan orang Cina dan India hanya merupakan PENDATANG- seperti sekiranya Muthu dan Chong menaiki kereta Proton kepunyaan Ahmad, ianya tidak bermaksud Chong dan Muthu memiliki atau berhak memiliki kereta tersebut?

Ingat?

Saya tidak hairan ataupun terkejut sekiranya anda tidak ingat langsung kepada perkara ini. Memang tidak hairan kerajaan Malaysia memandang remeh kepada perkara ini. Tiada tindakan yang diambil terhadap pengetua tersebut. Yang pasti adalah sekiranya didapati mereka telah dibuktikan bersifat perkauman, mereka akan ditukar ke sekolah lain (dan dibenarkan sifat perkauman tersebut untuk terus berterusan).

Sekiranya anda berbangsa Cina ataupun berbangsa bukan Melayu, tidak hairan sama sekali apabila anda mengeluarkan video youtube yang mengejek ataupun menghina perbuatan pengetua-pengetua tersebut, akan melihat polis menyiasat anda dibawah Sedition Act.

Apakah lojik sebenarnya? Lojik ianya ialah konsep 1Malaysia Perdana Menteri adalah konsep yang memang tidak akan berjaya. Konsep yang sebenarnya hanya untuk menipu rakyat Malaysia untuk mendapatkan undian semasa pilihan raya umum. Konsep apakah yang membenarkan rakyat Malaysia menghasut sesama sendiri? Konsep 1Malaysia apakah yang membenarkan penghinaan kaum minoriti dan mencaci penghinaan kaum majoriti?

Bangsa-bangsa lain di Malaysia tidak lupa lagi kepada penduduk Shah Alam yang memijak kepala kerbau apabila cadangan untuk membina kuil Hindu di Shah Alam telah dibentangkan. Dan juga gereja-gereja yang dibakarkan semasa isu penggunaan perkataan "Allah" hangat dibincangkan. Bangsa lain juga tidak lupa ahli politik yang memijak muka menteri menteri Cina dan melakukan perbuatan kencing ke atas poster yang memaparkan muka menteri Cina. Kita juga peka kepada sokongan kerajaan Malaysia kepada PERKASA yang selang hari akan menghina kaum-kaum bukan Melayu.

Adakah bangsa-bangsa lain, yang juga warganegara Malaysia, tidak berhak untuk bersuara? Adakah Malaysia ini dibina atas usaha orang Melayu saja? Tiada sumbangan langsung dari bangsa bangsa lain?

Bangsa-bangsa lain di Malaysia bukanya tidak menghargai usaha usaha orang Melayu. Ataupun tidak menghormati pengorbanan orang Melayu. Tetapi ianya adalah sedih dan menjijikan bahawa Malaysia, setelah mencapai kemerdekaan untuk 53 tahun, masih menganggap bangsa-bangsa lain sebagai Pendatang. Bagaimanakah Malaysia mencapai kemerdekaan tersebut? Adakah ianya hanya usaha kaum Melayu? Dimana kaum-kaum lain hanya datang menetap di Malaysia selepas ianya mencapai kemerdekaan? Sudah pasti tidak. Kami sehati dan sejiwa telah menentang penjajah dan komunis.

Tetapi adakah usaha-usaha kaum lain dihargai? Sedihnya, tidak. Sedihnya, orang Melayu memang mudah lupa. Lupa bahawa sekiranya anda ingin dihormati, anda mesti menghormati dulu. Sekiranya anda ingin kaum lain untuk menghormati Islam dan budaya kaum Melayu, anda perlu menghormati budaya dan agama lain juga.

Contohnya: Sekiranya Teo Nie Ching tidak memahami bahawa anda perlu berpakaian kemas dan bertudung untuk masuk ke kawasan sesebuah Masjid, dia memang patut dikritik untuk kelakuannya yang tidak menghormati agama Islam. Beliau memang tidak boleh mempertahankan kelakuannya. Sememangnya ahli politik DAP tidak boleh mempertahankan Nie Ching disebabkan perbuatan beliau memang tidak boleh diterima, apa yang beliau boleh melakukan, hanya untuk meminta maaf dan tidak mengulangi kesalahan tersebut.

Tapi sekiranya dua wartawan Melayu masuk ke gereja dan menyertai upacara agama yang sedang berlangsung, dan mengejek dan juga menghina upacara itu di dalam suratkhabar, ianya adalah tidak boleh diterima. Adakah mereka patut dikenakan untuk perbuatan mereka yang langsung tidak menghormati agama lain? Ya. Adakah kedua wartawan tersebut dikritik kaum Melayu? Tidak.

Itulah kes double standard yang wujud di Malaysia.

Kaum-kaum lain sudah letih berjuang dalam satu peperangan yang tidak mendatangkan manfaat kepada sesiapa. Letih untuk berjuang untuk diterima sebagai warganegara Malaysia walaupun lahir dan dibesarkan di sini. Letih kerana acapkali diberitahu bahawa kami pendatang.

Sudah pasti satu hari warga Malaysia hanya akan terdiri dari kaum Melayu yang bersifat perkauman, yang mementingkan diri dan berego besar. Kaum-kaum lain akan "balik ke negara asal" ataupun pergi ke negara lain yang bukan tanahair mereka, untuk bekerja dan menyumbang kepada kemajuan negara tersebut.

Day after day, I sit in the court, and I witness the DPPs (Deputy Public Prosecutors) acting like fools.

They turn to the watching brief counsels when the Judge asks "when can we set the next date?" or "shall we continue this on a later date?"

The DPP may nod his head but the W/BC shakes his,and he quips "oh tidak boleh Tuan." and he will look over to the W/BC to search for answers to justify why he has objected to a postponement and the W/BC whispers the answer to him which he dutifully repeats to the court.

Are the DPP fools? How can you allow the watching brief counsel (for the complainant) to coach you ? or to direct your case? Or to feed you questions to ask the witnesses?

Just this morning, we walked into court and we see the watching brief counsels preparing a Q & A for the DPP. A Q& A. Whatever happened to independence? Whatever happened to conducting your case because the evidence shows that the Accused may be guilty? Whatever happened to having a brain?!

How can you firstly allow that to happen, and secondly be SEEN to allow that to happen?

This brings me to the issue of Saiful and Farah's alleged affair.

Why should this come as a surprise to all of us? There has never been independence in the judiciary or the AG's chambers. Witnesses are coached all the time. The prosecutors sit them down and tell them what to say. Sure, many may deny it. But we see with our own eyes when they let witnesses and/or the lawyers representing them direct the DPP as to when how and what should be done.

And what type of a explanation is that she is merely assisting the team and has no access to the documents or the information pertaining to the prosecution of Anwar? Unless Ms. Farah goes into meetings or the court with both her eyes AND ears closed, I do not know how she isn't privy to the information that is discussed in the matter. OF course the whole damn prosecution is compromised.

Let me just say, a compromised team of prosecutors who refuse to step down merely goes to show that this trial is a charade. And they cannot change all the stars in the show at the last minute. Who will have time to read the scripts for when the camera rolls?

Still, attacking a man's private life - as to the registration of his marriage- is hitting below the belt. I don't know about the rest of you, but whether Mr. Hanafiah wants to have his marriage recognised in Kota Bharu or not, does not reflect the type of DPP that he is. Or that he is incompetent. I have personally seen him in action in court and he is anything but incompetent.

Frankly, all this side show that Karpal has choreographed is making me dizzy. I think he may have lost the plot. It may now be all about the fireworks and the drama and making headlines and less about fighting the case. Asking Farah and Saiful to testify to their affair? What? What type of request is that? What do we intend to solicit from Farah and Saiful? You think they will go into the witness box and say yes, we had an affair and I fed information to Saiful? Who is on trial here? Anwar Ibrahim. And the trial has barely started.

What Karpal will have to do, is to let the trial start. Let the prosecution present its evidence and remind the court at every opportunity that due to the alleged possibility of tampering of evidence caused by the alleged affair, the evidence before the court may not be true. And not much weight should be placed on it. Unless the court is satisfied that there is NO affair (in which case the dropping of Farah from the team will not be justified) and that the evidence is safe to be accepted.

I'm so sick of all the slides shows that are going on with the trial. If I were the High Court Judge, I will be sick of all the rubbish attempts to postpone the proceedings. Either way, you think the AG is going to withdraw the charge? If indeed there has been alleged "fabrication" of evidence by the prosecution, you think they are going to stop because of the slide show? You think anything will change if you keep poking holes in it? Sure, eventually it may burst and the truth may come out.

But let the court be the judge.

Let the process of law take place.

We may not have the greatest respect for the independence of the judiciary in this country, but we have no choice but to submit to it.

And we do our damned best when we are before the court. Any other slide show just makes them look like fools. And then what separates them from the prosecutor and their lead witness then?

They think we are stupid.

Did you read the papers today?

Our dear DPM Muhyiddin said "no one should try to undermine the country’s foundation by questioning the place of any race." and he ]also said "let us strengthen the country’s foundation by upholding mutual understanding among the different racial and religious groups."

Perhaps our dear DPM has forgotten that on the 12th September 2008, the Registrar of Societies registered PERKASA.

And in Article 4 of PERKASA's charter :

• Memperkasakan Islam sebagai agama persekutuan
• Memperkasakan Bahasa Melayu sebagai bahasa kebangsaan
• Memperkasakan kedaulatan Raja-Raja Melayu
• Mempertahankan hak-hak keistimewaan orang Melayu
• Memperkasakan kaum pribumi
• Menyatupadukan kaum pribumi dan perpaduan rakyat Malaysia
• Mempertahankan kedaulatan Negara.

And as part of their activities to uphold Article 4 of their charter, they held a protest (with 300 Malay participants) against the Pakatan Rakyat state government in Penang. They accused the government of being racist when it demolished illegal hawker stalls. Protesters burned an effigy of Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.

And they also have great ideas on how the federal scholarships should be awarded in this country.
“The Malay population of this country is 67 per cent. That means 67 per cent of scholarships should be set aside for deserving Malays and Bumiputeras.”

It's nothing to do with merit among races. They should be set aside to Malays and Bumiputeras because they are a majority.

And when BN lost in Sibu (and a majority of them voted against BN in Hulu Selangor) Perkasa wanted the Government to review financial aid and development projects to Chinese.
Because the Chinese were ungrateful for what the PM had given them.

And the DPM tells us, everyone is entitled to establish PERKASA. They are entitled to speak their minds.

And the PM goes around with a 1Malaysia for all. 1Malaysia 1Malaysia 1Malaysia.

But PERKASA still remains active. PERKASA still remains loud and aggressive. They remain untouched and unreprimanded.

WHY?

Because PERKASA is every racist Malay's inner voice. If they abolish it, who would speak their real thoughts on Malay rights? As someone in power, I have to say 1Malaysia and Malaysia for all races! When in their hearts, they think OH I *heart* PERKASA. or
"My thoughts exactly those scum of a Chinese/Indian/ Lain-lain."

Because indeed if they really feel that PERKASA threatens national unity, they would have deregistered it. They would have abolished it. They would arrest its President under their favourite Act the ISA and lock him up. (even those who have a peaceful candlelight vigil to protest against ISA get hauled up too)

RPK says Najib may have links to Atlantuya they swiftly charge him in court for Sedition. But Malays step on cow heads and protest against the relocation of an Indian temple, they only get a slap on the wrist with a fine.

But PERKASA?

It gets a pat on it's back for a job well done. It roams free with its racism. It floats through the media with its racism.

And yet our PM and his people sit in their big offices in Putrajaya and tells us the rakyat of his 1Malaysia concept.

Ever heard of such big bullshit in your life?

Because after all, all UMNO politicians are saints. That damned Zaid Ibrahim had alcohol? For shame! None of the UMNO politicians do that. What do you mean some pictures of some Minister's children having alcohol made it to gutteruncensored ? What do you mean there was a naked picture of a Minister with a woman who is not his wife? Blasphemy! Those are lies!

Defending the right of another individual to choose her religion is unforgivable. Who needs these type of politicians?

We need a straight laced, non dancing, non singing, pure Muslim who only supports Islam and Malays. (Because the rest of us Malaysians do not have any right in this so called democratic, constitutional country called Malaysia.)

Yes indeed. To those who do not agree, kindly get on the next plane out and find yourself another country to live in.

Fuel subsidy cut...again.

Remember a year or two ago, the Government increased the petrol prices aka cut the fuel subsidy, and told us the monies saved would be used for development of the public transport sector?
Remember how we were told that it is necessary because only the Malaysian government subsidizes such a large amount of fuel for Malaysians and hence fuel is so cheap in Malaysia whereas the rest of the world have to pay through their noses for it?

And remember when we woke up this morning, the public transport in Malaysia is STILL SHIT?

So I don't know about you, but all I hear from the Government is "BLA BLA BLA..."

Once again, they are back with the subsidy cuts to "BOOST ECONOMY".

The Star reported today that AMResearch senior economist Manokaran Mottain said " money saved could be diverted to fund development projects, which would have a multiplier effect around the country."

So the question is, what FUND DEVELOPMENT projects are we talking about? Logically, one would think that whatever monies saved from cutting subsidies would be use to, just to name a few:-

i) improve the shitty public transport system; AND
ii) improve the road conditions around the country (so we don't have to sit in a damned jam every damned day.)

Right? Sounds logical to you?

But I don't see any of that from the first subsidy cut and I don't think we will see any from the second proposed cut.

So all this proposed saving of the government monies leaves me wondering why the country is in perpetual "debt."

We get taxed to the max of each and every penny of our income. And yet, the Government doesn't have enough money.

Perhaps the problem is not the subsidy. Perhaps the problems is this :-

A) SPENDING OUR HARD EARNED MONEY BUYING VOTES IN BY ELECTIONS
Like how the splashed money around in Hulu Selangor and in Sarawak. Vote for BN, we can help! *cue big grin* here's a MYR4milion cheque for you! Let's build some drains, let's fix the road, let's give those sad little chinese schools some development.

B) GIVING THE POLITICIANS TOO MUCH "ALLOWANCES" TO FUND THEIR LIFESTYLE
Remember when Khir Toyo was found to have brought his whole family + maid to Disneyland? I wondered who paid for that. Ever seen a MP driving a Kancil? Possibly not, let's spend shit loads of money buying them luxury cars! And let's give them big fat allowances to go for an overseas holiday each year!

C) SENDING DELEGATES OVERSEAS TO DO JACKSHIT
Rombongan sambil belajar to learn how to have a better sewerage system? Check. Rombongan sambil belajar to do jackshit overseas? Check. And if the DPM or the PM or whatever MP is going somewhere for an "official" visit, we sure hope his wife, his wife's sister, his sister, his sister in law, his neighbour, his maid, his 4 children and their maids, his chauffeur and his cook and etc, don't have to go along.

I have already mentioned all the other reasons time and again (here and here AND here)

Any changes? Monies are still being thrown around for useless useless things.

And yet, everyday we are told OH THE GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIZES TOO MUCH! WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH FOR DEVELOPMENT!

How about you quit pulling wool over our eyes?

How about, you actually spend money on the rakyat on things that actually BENEFIT us?

How about, YOU POLITICIANS running the country take a big pay cut, switch to Kancils, quit buying your wives luxury items, or having your children be educated overseas or in international schools, or have big ass mansions, and attend glitzy parties?

HOW ABOUT THAT?

How has the PDRM failed us citizens of Malaysia?

Every day we hear cries of the PDRM falling below the standards of what is expected of them in terms of curbing crimes and keeping the streets safe. When you hear of a snatch theft whereby a victim dies in the process, we yell "Oh, the police are useless!" or if you know of a house which has been burgled you sigh "Oh what can you do? The police are no use anyway."

Yet, in the wee hours of the 26th of April 2010, an individual driving a vehicle and speeding away from the police, who continued driving even with ALL tyres punctured by bullets, and continued to resist arrest, was shot dead (whether on purpose or not) and the citizens yell "OH MY! THE PDRM SHOULD BE ASHAMED THAT THEY KILLED AN INNOCENT 15 YEAR OLD BOY!"

But suppose you take the age out of the equation, what if this individual, was indeed a robber? Or a hardcore criminal? What if this man had indeed just robbed a bank and was trying to flee the hands of the law? Would it make a difference to this scenario? Do we the citizens pat the police on their backs and say "good job!".

Has anyone asked the mother to this 15 year boy what she was thinking when she allowed her son to drive a car without a license? Has anyone questioned her parenting skills? How do you allow your son to 1) go out at midnight when the next day is a school day AND 2) drive a car without so much as driving skills and without a license to boot? What responsibility is she assuming for this "tragedy" ? If anybody has FAILED Aminulrasyid, its his MOTHER.

His mother who had not been vigilant in keeping her son safe at home and not out on a joyride with some friends. His mother who has to date, only taken pictures of young innocent doe eyed Aminuralsyid to gain sympathy from the public of how her poor son, who wanted to be an Angkasawan, is now dead due to the negligence and over zealousness of the police.

Sorry Ma'am. I am not falling for it. You failed your son. Not the PDRM. They did what they were trained to do.

They saw a car speeding away, the try to flag it down. It continues speeding. They try to flag it down again. It continues, and the police on hot pursuit, try to stop the vehicle by puncturing its tyres, but does it stop Aminulrasyid? No. He continues because "he wanted to go home."

And what does his sidekick Azamuddin Omar has to say about this whole saga? He just "wanted to go home" and he was "afraid that he would be reprimanded for going on a joyride."

15 year old aspiring Angkasawan, weighs the options in his head, RESIST ARREST AND FLEEING FROM POLICE vs REPRIMAND FROM FAMILY.

He chose the former.

Sorry bad choice. Unfortunately, he paid for that bad choice.

How is the police to know that a 15 year old boy was behind the wheel they were in hot pursuit of? How were they to assess that this was merely a boy out on a joyride who was petrified of being reprimanded by his family?

And what type of friend does this 15 year old have? One who claims his friend DIED IN HIS LAP, but then runs away (not before being "assaulted by police" - somebody has obviously not learnt the word ARREST under the CPC) from the scene, leaving his dead friend in the car, does NOT make a police report, NOR inform his policeman father of what happened, but goes home, silently and tries to forget the whole incident?

And, only comes forward to make a police report after watching the EVENING NEWS (rough calculation would be 15-16 hours after his friend was shot dead) accusing him of being a "robber".

Seriously?

If I see my friend being shot dead and dies in my lap, I will be much too traumatised to RUN AWAY from the scene and keep quiet about it! Unless I have indeed something to hide. Spare us the tears and sombreness. Spare us the drama.

Aminulrasyid and Azamuddin's parents failed them. They failed to educate these youths. They failed to teach them right from wrong. The failed their duties as parents to these two boys. And unfortunately, their failure took center stage on 26th of April 2010 where one of these boys died.

Take that responsibility. Do not shift the blame to the police. They were doing their jobs and I applaud them for it.

You, Norsiah Mohamad. You failed your son. Now you have to live with the consequences.

For years and years and YEARS, the Malay community have been the leaders, the government, the civil servants, the rich and the ones in power.

They demanded the "positive discrimination" which they termed were their birth right, because you know, the Chinese are IMMIGRANTS (apparently some Malay man must have traced his roots back to the first man to step on the soil of Malaysia or founded Malaysia or after the dinosaurs were destroyed by the asteroid, this one Malay man was born and out of his ribs, was made a Malay woman. Wait, that story belongs to the Bible. But anyway, just adjust the story according to the religion, and the result is that the Malay race was born and conquered and somewhere in between their ultimate greatness and power, they allowed one Chinese fella, to come take refuge in the land which rightfully, belonged to the Malays.)

And this damned Chinese must have bred like bunnies and created this whole race of Chinese who lived here for so long, and made so much money, and now, God Forbid, they are trying to take over the country in the next general election? (Dr Zubir Harun, director of Perkasa’ economic bureau said it himself.)

Now this damned Chinese who have no right to be in Malaysia in the first place, will take the opportunity to gain power in this Country which rightfully belong to the Malays. How dare they? Do they not know of the sacrifices of the Malay race to give them refuge here? How dare they bite the hand that feeds them? And how can they blackmail the government into giving into their demands by threatening to vote for Pakatan Rakyat? Those ungrateful brats! They have to vote for BN! Or secretly vote for UMNO!

MCA should be FLUSHED out of BN. And on that note, Najib should have also NEVER gone to Batu Caves during Thaipusam! How could he be the ONLY PM in the history of this country,(or was he the Second one? Who cares? The gall!) to step unto that soil during their Holy Day? Blasphemy!

Speaking of the PM, how could he have come up with this New Economic Model? Which CLEARLY has a Chinese agenda? You remove the 30% Bumiputera requirement for intial listing shares to only about 12.5%? How dare he? Now, how about Bumiputeras going to obtain free money just by being Bumiputera? What do you mean they're given free land under Felda? What do you mean their children get free scholarships to study overseas? What do you mean MARA gives children education? What do you mean they get a discount for property? You mean some of them actually have to WORK now? My race itself should be a card for everything free! And I quote Raja Petra when he says "just because I came out of a Malay pussy" I AM ENTITLED to all these things!

Christian vs Muslim

Those who oppose the use of the word Allah say "please respect the sensitivities of the Muslims.
Allah has been used for centuries in Malaysia as the word to denote the God of Islam. "

Those who are for the use of the word Allah to denote God in general, say "But it is merely a word which predates religion. It is our inherent right to use that word."

So, really, why can't the Christians just respect the sensitivities of the Muslims? Why not just revert to Tuhan instead of Allah?

Why indeed?

Because like the Sun columnist said today, it is possibly because the Christians (and all other faiths in Malaysia) feel that we may have given a little too much.

1.Pork is banned in Islam, movies about small cute pigs by the name of Babe never make it to Malaysian shores.
2.Shah Alam residents are mostly Muslims, the whole town is declared an Islamic town and alcohol and entertainment are banned.
3.International acts who want to perform here do not adhere to the strict "dress code" to respect our culture (which by OUR culture it means Islamic culture), we prohibit them from performing here.
4.Alcohol is banned in Islam, so all things related to alcohol such as concerts organised by the company, or any other event, is banned.
5.Scholarships and university placements are not based on merit, but by race and religion.
6.Up until this year, all businessmen who want to set up a company must find 30% bumiputra investors/partners before they can.
7.Malays/Muslims pay less for property because they get an automatic 5% discount
8. They removed Hang Tuah from the history books because it was found that Hang Tuah, the great warrior, was actually Chinese.
9. When the Muslims fast, they can go home early/ come in late, but when the Christians/Hindus/Buddhist fast they do not get that privilege.
10. They banned the Da Vinci code because it was about Christianity (though many Christians thought watching the movie amounted to Blasphemy)
11. They allow universities set up for Malays/Muslims to crop up like flowers after a shower, but only allow UTAR university status after fighting for it for ten years.
12. They relocate temples, tear down places of worship belonging to other faiths, because it offensive to the majority of Muslims living in that area. (And then they step on cow heads to prove a point)

I could go on.

But I shall not. Because I do not adopt the attitude of those who think we have to respect their sensitivies, but do not find the need to also respect ours in return.

The country has been relatively peaceful because the Non Muslims have done NOTHING but respect the sensitivities of the Muslims.

It has become inherent to us not to eat in front of them when our Muslim friends are fasting.
We provide for halal food when we invite them for meals.
We wear the tudung to cover our heads when we enter the mosque.
We prevent alcohol from being served when there are Muslims who are attending an event.
We do not conduct anything on Fridays during their Friday prayer hours.

That is just to name a few.

In return, when we ask for small favours which is our very right as a citizen of Malaysia, we're reminded that we're merely "foreigners" who have been given the permission to "remain in Malaysia." That the Malays/Muslims were kind enough to let us stay and be given citizenship.

In the wake of the church burnings, the Christians have rallied together to pray for peace. Nobody has retaliated. Nobody has started burning churches.

Instead the arson continues. Lawyers who defend the Herald see their offices being broken into, whether coincidentally or not. Protests continue in Mosques. Poster saying "ALLAH adalah untuk kegunaan Islam saja" crop up everywhere.

And the Christians continue to kneel before God and bow their heads and pray for peace.

We do not need to stoop that low.

Have you ever had one lone car on the road terrorizing you to give way to it, so it can zoom pass you, in its 2 litre, brand new flashy tires, big ass sedan or whatchamacallit expensive body works? And then you do give way cos you figured no point trying to outdo his flashy ass car, and it ZOOMS past you and you can see the driver flashing his big grin saying "Yeah baby. check out the ride! Bugger off the road slow mo in sad ass car?"

Then you reach the traffic lights about 30 m ahead and stranded there, waiting for the red light to change, is Mr. Check out my cool ride ? Then you slowly slide up next to his car and then you give him the " still have to wait for the lights huh?"

This is exactly how I feel about the church burning.

When my friend texted me in the morning to tell me there had been some church burning "activities" going on, I was not exactly disturbed. I was not particularly effected or upset. Not because I am not Christian, but because dim witted acts like this was not unheard of here in Malaysia.

Upset with temple relocating, step on cow head. Upset with leaders from opposition, play pretend to pee on the poster. Just to name a few.

So, why was everyone surprised? Let's recap in point form the events.

Court ruled Allah can be used by Christians to describe God.
Muslims get their panties in a bunch.
Muslims call for Government to tell the Court who's boss.
Government says sorry, we cannot stop people from protesting in mosques because they are entitled to show their dissastisfaction with the ruling.
Some random dim wits go on church burning rampage.
Government condems such acts

Now, any idiot will tell you, if the Government tie their own hands behind their backs and say they cannot do anything about planned protests, then they obviously indirectly endorsed the despicable behaviour isnt it?
Well, any idiot can tell you that's obvious. But not the Malaysian Government. Right now I cannot think of anything more degrading than an idiot. So, we'll leave that for next time.

Anyway, I digress. So I am not upset with church burnings only because this merely shows the stupidity of the ones involved. The ignorance, the disrespect, the dim wittedness, the ( just insert any words that equate to stupidity or ignorance) of the church burners. It makes it clearer to the rest of the world that some Malaysians are put simply, dumb asses.

Dumb enough to think, by burning churces, the Herald will say "we will stop using the word Allah."
Dumb enough to think, the rest of the Non Muslims in Malaysia will suddenly sympathise with the Muslim's plight to have Allah for their own exclusive use.
Dumb enough to think the Christians will retaliate and hence ignite the sparks of a racial war.

So here's what I think, let the dumb ones go do what they want. Step on cow heads, piss on posters, throwing home made molotov cocktails at churches.

The rest of us do not have to stoop to their level. We have dignity, grace and intelligence.

Let us just wait at the traffic light grinning to ourselves at the stupid big ass flashy car waiting right next to us.

You know how you have so many important things to do but you choose to do the most menial unimportant ones?

You know how two jet planes costing the Malaysian taxpayers MYR100 million got "ejected" off to another country and is still untraceable and nobody has been held accountable for its disappearance? You know how the Sun newspaper today yelled "top brass cleared" and apparently only the rank and file are responsible for the loss of the jet planes? Logically speaking, if you go to say, McDonalds and the guy behind the counter gives you the shittiest service you've ever experienced in your life, who do you yell for? The manager right? Because he is responsible for the people who work for him. He is the Mr. go to whenever there are any problems in that place. So how can top people in the Army be cleared? Somebody should be responsible for the delinquents in the Army. You don't dust your shoulders and say "it wasn't me!" The Japanese go as far as taking their own lives when something goes wrong in their corporation. When a train crashed, the CEO of the train company stepped down and bowed before the press to express his apology for the crash. Malaysians?
We deny any responsibility, we point fingers and then we say "it wasn't me!".

Something as pressing and urgent as the ARMY, the MALAYSIAN ARMY who is supposed to protect us from foreign invasion, missing two jet planes which was STOLEN from underneath their noses is not immediately dealt with. Instead, it's the use of the word Allah which is getting everybody's panties in a bunch. The ex ex-PM's panties are so much in knots he can hardly breathe, poor dude. Non Muslims are reminded to respect the sensitivities of Muslims. Islam is the official religion of the country.

Yes. We understand that Islam is the official religion of the country. But is Malaysia the founder of Islam? The last I checked, we weren't. And the word Allah predates Islam. Sure, I am uneducated in this matter, if indeed Allah is exclusively for Islam, then all other countries in the world which have used Allah as a reference to God must have gotten it all wrong for centuries. CENTURIES. Allah as far as the rest of the world (minus Malaysian Muslims of course) is an Arabic word which derived from al and ilah. Christian Arabs have used Allah to mean God all these years but hey you know what? Let us MALAYSIANS whose civilisation came thousands and thousands of years after the Arabs claim that Allah is exclusively for Islam. Cos us Malaysians are great that way. Malaysia Boleh. (said three times with great enthusiasm). I think the next logical step for Malaysia is to take over the Enclyclopedia and rewrite it. Cos you know, we're just great that way.

And then in the midst of things that are a threat to public security and which exposes the weaknesses of the government, the DBKL finds it appropriate to revoke the entertainment licenses of clubs. It's indirectly saying "here's a death certificate for your business. HAHA." Sure, the music is 20 decibels above the permitted 60. And all the service residences are complaining about the noise. So, if you have half the brain in DBKL, you would have not approved permits for development of residential areas around entertainment outlets no? It's like allowing a mosque to be built right smack in between pork breeders, and then saying, sorry, the mosque does not allow you continue breeding pork. You know. Pork, Islam. No go. Like I said before, the previous Perak government thought it was a great idea to build a mosque next to the General Hospital. Sure, more than 80 decibel of "noise" comes through the mosque five times a day but do the patients, lying there, sick and dying, complain about the noise? Nope. Can't. Islam is the official religion of Malaysia, You've got a problem with that? Go die somewhere else.

2010 is here. We ended 2009 with great news that reminds us Malaysians that, as years progress, the BS continues.

Nazri calls Dr. M a racist.

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 7 — Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz has called Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad a “bloody racist” for defending the Biro Tata Negara (BTN) courses, and reasserted the Cabinet’s earlier decision to overhaul the programme.

Nazri pointed out to reporters in Parliament today that patriotism was not meant only for the Malays but for all Malaysians.

“You must be a Malaysian whether you’re a minister or not. You must walk your talk. Don’t just because when you were PM, you wanted everyone to support you, you’re Malaysian and the moment you’re no longer PM, that’s it, only talk about the Malays so I cannot accept his comment. When you read his blog it is bloody racist.

“I strongly feel the BTN courses must be in line with the 1 Malaysia slogan by the PM,” he said.

Dr Mahathir had said yesterday that there was no need to revamp BTN’s training modules in the current form and that it was suitable for instilling the patriotic spirit among Malaysians.

Nazri also slammed Umno’s Utusan Malaysia newspaper today, saying its “denial syndrome is making me laugh.” The minister in the prime minister’s department repeated his stand that “everybody knows what the BTN is,” so there was nothing to hide.

“I just want them to know, they should not go on a denial syndrome because their syllabus is known to everybody. Don’t think that people outside do not know about the syllabus based on patriotism for Malays. I just want to remind them that among those in the opposition, Hasan Ali was a former deputy director of BTN and Sungai Petani MP Johari Abdul was a BTN former director and Anwar Ibrahim’s father in law was involved with the BTN.

“They all know what the syllabus is all about so who are we to say that it did not happen? You want to lie? You make people laugh. I mean there are people who attended the courses who came out very angry. There were many instances of the use of words like Ketuanan Melayu (Malay supremacy). It is ridiculous so I want them to tell me where did I go wrong in supporting the revamping of the BTN syllabus. Tell me where I went wrong?” he asked.

Nazri stressed that BTN was funded by public money and that the funds should be spent properly for the betterment of all communities.

“The BTN’s allocation is mentioned in the PM’s department’s budget. So it’s public money. So if it’s public money then we need to ensure that it is spent properly, not to have courses only to concentrate on one community in the country.

“You talk about patriotism, love for the country. Patriotism is for all Malaysians regardless of race. Therefore, the money spent on BTN to have courses must reflect the 1Malaysia slogan by the PM. It should not only be to raise patriotism among the Malays. Malaysia is for all races so I disagree with any syllabus which only concentrates on patriotism just on one community, I disagree. If they have a problem with that, I want to know what is their problem,” he said.

Nazri questioned if Utusan Malaysia, which has been at the forefront of defending BTN courses, believes that Malaysia belongs only to the Malay community.

“Do they want to say that Malaysia belongs only to the Malays and the government is only a Malay government? Should only the Malays be given the spirit of patriotism? Other races are not patriotic about their country? So I want them to point out to me where is it that I’ve gone wrong If I disagree with the past syllabus,” he added.

Nazri also denied the claim made by Utusan that it was only him who wanted BTN to be revamped and not the Cabinet.

“The moment PM took over, when he introduced the 1 Malaysia slogan. It was soon after that because courses run by BTN using public funds must be used properly and it amounts to millions so if you want to talk about patriotism, patriotism for all, not just the Malays, for all Malaysians. It’s not because of the Selangor state government that we changed the syllabus so it’s long before that,” he said.

Nazri also questioned Utusan for deceiving Malaysians on BTN.

“You tell me, can I lie? I can’t. They must use their head lah. If they want to deny and all that. If the other side they do not know, it’s different but all these people were involved with BTN before. They were facilitators and directors so they know what’s going on.

“Come on lah, please, this is not 1961 or the 1970s. Information is freely available. I want them to get out of the denial syndrome, admit it and that’s in line with the PM’s slogan so why shouldn’t we change?” he asked.

The PR-led Selangor government recently imposed a ban on its civil servants and students within its state-run educational institutions from attending BTN courses, while Penang — another PR- governed state — is said to be considering similar action.

But the hawks in Umno, through Malay-based dailies like Berita Harian and Utusan Malaysia, have moved to defend BTN and attacked its critics as “traitors” who are trying to politicise the issue.

Utusan yesterday urged the government not to “bow down” to the opposition on BTN and said that it was Nazri who wanted the programme to be revamped even though the move was decided by the Cabinet.

Time and again, we have been told to stop asking for the right to be Malaysian and expect fair treatment from the Government because the Malays have sacrificed so much to let us stay here.

If only all us Non Malays would pack up and leave. Then the Malays will have no issue in this country because then it would be fair play as they will all be given equal opportunities and will obtain the same aid from the Government.

Tun M is right. The rich in Malaysia are Non Malays. And these rich ones are contributing to the country's wealth through their taxes. So technically, by giving aid to Malays and Malays alone, that would be indirectly doing the very thing Tun M said not to do- to take from one race and to give to another. But that is another story for another forum.

But how did these people become rich? They worked hard. Simple as that. Robert Kuok started off as an office boy. Lee Sin Cheng started off helping his father in their own small chinese food shop and to support his family he sold ice cream for four years while he was in his teens. As for Lim Goh Tong (who has since passed away and is now replaced on the list by his wife) he worked as a carpenter and survived the Japanese invasion of Malaya while working as a vegetable farmer. That is but three of the many stories of these rich successful men. Clearly from these stories, it is matter of perseverance and hard work that has brought these men wealth and success.

And what about the three lone Malays in this top 20 list? One of them is Tun M's own son. Obviously this man did not grow up with hardship, his father might have, but not him.
What about the other two men? Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar grew up poor. He helped his family in the cow breeding business. As for Azman Hashim? He did not grow up with a lot, his father was a disciplinarian and his mother was a headmistress. He grew up with strict discipline, which had obviously served him well in his life.

Now, despite what Tun M has said about the Malays, these two Malay men have somehow defied the odds. They were not given any handouts. They were not told that it was their birth right to have the Government hold their hands and lead them to wealth and success. These two men worked hard for their wealth.

So the striking similarities between the Malays and Non Malays? It is a matter of working hard and perseverance. Nothing to do with their race. So its utter rubbish for Tun M to say give a Malay MYR1m and he would not know what to do with it. He would know what to do with it, if only he had been given the opportunity to actually have to THINK of being competitive. Think of being an entrepeneur. Instead, the Government has instilled in him the idea that he needn't had to work so hard. It is already his birth right to be given all that he needs.

You want land to farm? Felda will give you land. Let the Non Malays work their arses off to buy land. You want money to start businesses? Let the Government give out Bumiputra loans, let the Non Malays save their money from their measly wages and start their businesses. You want to open up a restaurant overseas? Let us the Government give you grants to do so, let the Non Malays work their way up from dish washer to cleaner to a managerial position and lastly restaurant owner. You want to go to universities? Let the Government create a quota and let you in despite your bad results, let the Non Malays study hard and fight for one of the few places. You want a scholarship to go overseas to study? Here let me give 100 to the Malays, and let 2 of the Non Malays fight for the last two places and as for the rest, let them get disheartened and work somewhere else. Less Non Malays in Malaysia, better for us! You want to buy a house? Let us make it cheaper for you while the Non Malays pay full price.

The Government has patted itself on its head and said "Good Job!" in maintaining the necessary Malay quota and the necessary Malay wealth. But you know what all that it has done in this mission?

They've killed the Malay competitiveness.

And once you're no longer competitive, you perish.

Back when Tun M just retired (after a teary emo charged goodbye at the UMNO General Assembly) I bumped into him at KLCC. He was with his wife, and a bodyguard (who was dressed in plain clothes and kept a short distance from the couple). I rushed up to Tun and his wife and asked if I could snap a picture with them and they obliged. Til today, that picture is one of my prized possession.

Til today I respect Tun M for his vision and his ideas.

But I read this today:- http://chedet.co.cc/chedetblog/2009/07/kaki-dalam-kasut.html and I cannot help but wonder how his statements are so horrendously wrong.

"Tokoh bukan Melayu yang cuba duduki tempat Melayu (in the shoes of the Malays) jika ikhlas, akan rasa kekecewaan Melayu melihat hampir semua perniagaan dan perusahaan serta kekayaan yang diperolehi darinya dimiliki oleh bukan Melayu. Segala estet rumah mewah juga diduduki oleh bukan Melayu. Sikit benar orang Melayu yang tinggal di estat mewah ini. Lebih ramai yang tinggal di kawasan setinggan."
(roughly translated to mean: Non Malay leaders who try to put themselves in the shoes of the Malays, if there were sincere, will understand the frustrations of the Malays when they see that all the businesses and industries as well as the riches are all in the hands of the Non Malays. All the affluent townships are dominated by Malays. Only a few live in those townships)

Mungkin semua ini disebabkan kesalahan orang Melayu sendiri. Mereka tidak guna peluang yang disediakan bagi mereka. Ada yang salahguna peluang-peluang ini pun. Tetapi jika seorang pengayuh beca diberi sejuta Ringgit, apakah ia akan dapat berniaga dan berjaya dalam bidang ini.
( Perhaps these are all the faults of the Malays themselves. They have not utilised the opportunities that have been given to them. And some have misused these opportunities. But if a trishaw man is given a million ringgit, can he start a business and be successful in it.)

Does this not give you the impression that Tun honestly and sincerely think that Malay people are useless? Because it sure as hell sounds that way to me. He states if you give a million ringgit to a (presumably Malay) trishaw man, what is he going to do with it? Do you think he will be able to be successful? A chinese man will say, well if I had a million ringgit, by sure I will start a business and be successful in it! An Indian man may state the same. But Tun M thinks the Malay will find it impossible. And hence, because of their sheer genetic impossibility of being successful, the NEP must exist to reduce the big gap between the riches of the Non Malays and the Malays.

If the NEP continues to exist, generation after generation of Malays will become LAZY as they are of the opinion that it is their birth right to be given all that their ancestors have been given. Sure it may be true that other races who come from Empires who have existed long before the Malays and have been more successful may have had more experience in being successful and may at one time in history, be ahead of the Malays. But times have changed. The Malays are now educated, sophisticated and advanced. Many have now acquired the knowledge that were once upon a time, available only to the minority few.

If you use the statistics of Malays living out of town as part of the statistics to show that a majority of them are living in poverty, then one can only say this is because there are clearly more Malays in the country than other races. That's one. Number two, the other races have suffered these discrimination for so long, many have moved away. Number three, the Chinese do not register that they are poor because frankly, they are much too egoistic and proud to do so. While the Malays do not hesitate to do that as it means government aid. Number four, if poverty continue to exist in the Malay community, only the Malay leaders are to be blamed for hoarding all the money for themselves and their people. (Have you ever met a poor Minister? Or a poor Mayor?)

At first they say, no, the BTN (Biro Tatanegara) courses aren't there to condemn the Opposition. Then they have the media cover speeches and statements by Ministers in the Government saying Selangor is the one "afraid to expose its weakness" by banning all it's civil servants from attending the 5 day course to instill patriotism to the "Raja, Kerajaan dan Negara" (among others).

But I do not see how this course is not aimed at condemning the opposition and asking for the civil servants to have blind loyalty to the current government. Clearly the "misi" (mission) of the BTN is "BTN berdedikasi melaksanakan program-program memupuk semangat patriotisme dan ketaatan kepada kerajaan yang dipilih."
(roughly translated it means BTN is dedicated to establishing programmes to encourage patriotism and loyalty to the elected government)

And it's vision is "Menjadi sebuah organisasi awam yang unggul dalam memupuk semangat patriotisme serta menjadikan rakyat setia kepada Kerajaan."
(BTN's vision is to be the ideal public organisation in instilling the spirit of patriotism and to ensure the citizens are loyal to the Government)

Clearly, when the BTN was set up, March 2008 had yet to happen. Hence the opposition were merely background noise, and did not play any part in State Government. (Obviously Kelantan could not even be bothered to send anybody for the BTN course) When March 2008 happened and Selangor (and now demised Perak) was taken over by the Opposition, the BTN course instantly fell foul of "intergrating the nation". Because the opposition is clearly not the ELECTED GOVERNMENT per se. But they are merely the elected Government of Selangor, Perak and Kelantan. So, logically speaking, the Selangor Government is right. By sending their civil servants there to be indoctrinated with loyalty to BN, it clearly is a condemnation of the Opposition.

Isn't it? It sounds about right to me.

What a lot of people had also noticed was the fact that these courses were also very very racist.

Today the headline screamed that the civics course will undergo a revamp. Nazri (Minister in the PM's Deaprtment) says " the Curriculum must match 1Malaysia concept and be inclusive of all races."

I wonder. What have they been teaching all these while? If it is undergoing a revamp only NOW, does that not mean all these while the modules did not include all races? Apparently yes. Mr. Nazri himself says " You have the BTN courses for students mostly from one racial group..."

A survey at the website will show that this course never took into consideration other races in the first place.
Clearly women had to attend the course in baju kurung and bertudung/berselendang. Hence, if this course were open to all races, does that mean the Chinese/ Indian/ all other races have to be dressed in the baju kurung?

Does it not make you wonder where all your tax monies go? Well I am guessing a chunk of it goes to these programmes, the other chunk of it goes to running the rubbish course called the National Service. And if Selangor had not blown the cover of the BTN, nothing would have been done. What rubbish is it to say "we are revamping to be more in line with 1Malaysia?" So the PM comes up with a moniker 1Malaysia and everyone thinks is the best thing since sliced bread.

1Malaysia is NOT NEW. 1Malaysia is supposed to exist since 31st Augusy 1957. 1 Malaysia is but a reiteration of what every right thinking citizen want in their lives. We are ENTITLED to have racial intergration and our rights as citizens of MALAYSIA, to live the way we want, to practise the religion we choose, to elect the government we believe in and to condemn the politics we abhor. It is OUR RIGHT. It's not something that you have graciously given to us when the new PM so cleverly coined "1Malaysia."

So please. Spare us the Bullshit.

Ever stared at the newspapers and thought to yourself, Good God, the STUPIDITY!
I certainly have.
And for 2009, here is my top ten list.

1. A lady poisons herself. AND her children by lacing her drinks with weedkiller. The reason? Oh, it's because her brother was shot dead by the police. Her brother who was one of the five suspected robbers the police had a shoot out with. So, because she was overcome by grief, she decided to take not only her life, but those of her children too.

2. Welfare homes who take in young children and infants have been found to convert children as young as 7 years old, to Islam. Children who are too young to even understand cartoons in full, but have been placed with the understanding of Islam on their young shoulders. But wait, what does the government say? It says, go to the Syariah Court and ask them to declare that you're not Muslim. And yes, welfare homes are ENCOURAGED to teach children about Islam and its virtues. *mumble convert children acceptable mumble*.

3. You get SO fat, your 11 year old daughter has to drop out of school to take care of you. And then the army rebuilds your dilapidated home and the government gives you a doctor to check on your help and even gets you a nutritionist! So basically, she ballooned from 110kg to 170kgs because she took some "jamu" pills for the pain in her knees (yes, being 100kgs will be quite a lot of weight for your poor knees to carry). So she gets aid from Penang UMNO's Public Complaints and Welfare Secretariat. She allows herself to get that big. She allows her child to drop out of school to take care of her. She does nothing to lose the weight, but she gets aid for being too lazy to do something about her weight and her life.

4. The power company has such frequent outages, a man raps his dissastisfaction on video. Instead of TNB making a decision to buck up in their services, the Government says investigations would be carried out on the lyrics to see if action should be taken under the Penal Code. Why? Because Information, Communications, Culture and Arts Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said “We cannot allow acts that insult which could lead to disharmony,” he told reporters yesterday.". No siree. Stepping on cow heads is A-ok and endorsed by all parties. But insulting TNB for bad service? No-uh. Disharmony. Definitely.

5. A woman falls to her death from a condo unit in Penang. Police say "Based on the deceased’s brown-coloured pupil and skin colour, we believed she could be from either East Europe like Ukraine or the Middle East."
Please do not doubt the fantastic police force in Malaysia and their initial investigations based on the body they found and the conclusions from their vast experience in homicide/suicide/death investigations.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I seriously, in all honesty, do NOT care about the MCA.

They have LONG abandon the fight for the rights of their members or for the Chinese population.

Today someone remarked to me "Tee Keat is going to be like Samy Vellu soon."

"You don't like me? Out you go! "

I don't see how any of us will benefit from this MCA reshuffle. Or unity plan. I think it is a big waste of paper and sacrificed trees for faces of Tee Keat or Soi Lek, or Chew Mei Fun or whomever whatever from MCA to grace the newspapers. I feel cheated sometimes after I hand over my RM for the papers and I see the same MCA bullshit gracing the front pages.

Seriously, while the MCA is fighting, people in UMNO are shitting in their pants. DANG! They are going to chase away all our Chinese BN voters!

It's okay UMNO. PKR is messing itself up too. No worries. Just serves to remind us voters, once you have political power, it is no longer about who you are, what you stand for and what you can do for the rakyat. It's all about who is President, who gets which position, how can we benefit from the government and what flaws of the other parties can we point out (to make ourselves look good, without actually needing to do anything).

There is so much mud slinging in public now I wish there will be a 24 hour rainfall whereby all the useless politicians will just drown in the big pool of mud.

This is what irks me.

People who live in a foreign country. Working in and for a foreign economy. Contributing their time, energy and money to a foreign land and claiming that us Malaysians are ungrateful for what the Government has given us.

That us Malaysians are never happy with what we have. Here is an except of something I have about a million things to say to. :-

Or government that carefully filtered the information so that we can live the way we live now?

Honestly, not that I mean it is you… but I found people that find fault and complained all the time are pretty disgusting and sad. It is so easy to complain because you are complacent.

Go, do some traveling and visit poor country or live in the country that you worshipped so much. Then you will know how to appreciate you own so-called not practicing 100% freedom of speech country.

There is a thin line in finding solutions for a problem and trying desperately to prove that you are smart-ass by just being angry all the time."

Firstly, this comes from a girl who boasts of a Master in Law (specializing in Economy and IP). Secondly, she doesn't reside in Malaysia and she casually mentions she wants a job in the foreign country that she is in because "Europe pays more than Malaysia anyway." (IS THAT A COMPLAINT?!)
Thirdly, here is a girl who says, hey, whats a little sacrifice of government controlled media, if we do not have famine, riots and diseases and war like those other countries?

And here is what I want to say to this ignorant fool.

Firstly, you only THINK the damn country is so DARN wonderful, BECAUSE of the media. IF not for the internet and a man named RPK, we would have never known of the PM being implicated in murder, or the little Napoleans running around Selangor using the state's money to fly themselves all over the world, or how a man can go in as a witness to a investigation and wound up dead on the 5th floor, just to name a few.

And this freedom of information which you asked us to sacrifice for bigger things such as stability which is fragile, which you think is a difficult job. You compare your country to third world countries? You compare your country with Africa? Pakistan and Bangladesh? You think we are on the same turf as them? How very deluded. And frankly, how lost you are. Sure, we consider ourselves lucky to have "peace and stability" and also "a functioning economy" but my friend, those countries are NOT your peers.

Singapore, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong New Zealand, Australia.
THOSE ARE YOUR PEERS.
THEY ARE WHOM WE SHOULD COMPARE OURSELVES TO.
And oh did you know that our country actually produces oil? That we have natural resources?

If we apply your theory in the working world, and you tell your employer, because I have a Masters, I should be given a higher pay. He will say to your face, but why, some people don't even HAVE jobs. You should be happy you have one.

What a load of bull.

And the last load of bullshit I want to direct to her is simply this. If you are SO FKING proud of your country, why pack your bags and move away? Contribute to this country you alleged that us staying Malaysians are so unhappy about.

Please. Take a look at yourself and your judgmental views.

And dear, just because you have a Law Degree and a Master too, it does not make you a lawyer.

It should be, I am NOT QUALIFIED. Because I have never stepped into a court room, or drafted a court document, or spoken to a judge. I am not a lawyer, I am merely a law graduate.

I used to tell everybody how great a Sultan we have in Perak. But after the whole Perak power struggle, I have to rethink my position.

For those who are uninformed as to what happened in Perak, here's a behind the fiasco story.

On a separate note:

Everytime I see a 1 Malaysia sign, I feel like spitting on it.

I really do.

I spit on it because it obviously is a waste of tax payers money to print, churn and distribute these new 1 Malaysia logos, posters, giant billboards and whatnots. What? The more we look at it, the more we will believe the BS is it?

It's nothing but propaganda. 1 Malaysia this 1 Malaysia that. What has PM done to even prove 1 Malaysia? Just because you travel everywhere to launch the IDEA of 1 Malaysia, doesn't mean its a success in implementing the alleged policies before it.

1 Malaysia has been brought to its knees by the Auditor's report of excesses and misappropriation of money. OUR Money.

1 Malaysia - Rakyat didahulukan, hence because the rakyat (UMNO) wanted a man tainted with corruption to lead them in Bagan Pinang, that's what they get! Two thumbs up!

1 Malaysia- where MACC can ask someone to come and help with investigations but then say "he was not under our jurisdiction" when this someone is found dead on their premises. No police report, nothing. MACC's duty to BN's "pencapaian diutamakan".

1 Malaysia, it's not something that will outlive the PM. I doubt it will but MIC thinks its the greatest idea that has ever been invented. As great as the birth and rise of Samyvellu. Hence the need to change September 16, which is Malaysia day, to 1 Malaysia day. Can someone yell bootlicker?

Ever had a friend or an acquaintance whom is forever ungrateful no matter what you did for him? He will always find fault with you, saying its never enough, its not good enough, nothing works. To him, it is all about receiving, but less about giving?

That's how I as a MALAYSIAN, feel about Indonesians.

Did you hear they plan to INVADE Malaysia? A volunteer vigilante group called BENDERA (Benteng Demokrasi Rakyat) are waging war against us. They have 1300 volunteers and 500 medical personnel who plan to depart from Jakarta to Malaysia, armed with weapons like bamboo spears, sticks and parang.

They're wreaking vengeance on Malaysia because we:-

1) stole their culture
2) abuse their maids.

Us Malaysians are a terrible lot aren't we?

What do you mean we sent relief to Padang quake victims? Flew relatives and medical personnel and volunteers for free with Air Asia? Collected money and give them aid?

That's not enough.

What do you mean MERCY Malaysia was the first to land and offer its aid when the tsunami hit Indonesia?

That's not enough.

What do you mean we give thousands if not millions of Indonesians citizenship and PRs?

That's not enough.

What do you mean we give them jobs here ?

That's not enough.

What do you mean every year they give us the best haze ever from their burning forest- like a yearly gift. "Here's some tainted air for you courtesy of our burning forests. You're WELCOME!"

It's a damned gift. Why are us Malaysians so ungrateful?

We bloody stole their culture and abuse(d) their maids!
Who cares if that visit Malaysia ad had nothing to DO with Malaysia as it was produced solely by the Discovery/National Geographic channel? We could have done something! We could have issued a full page apology for even DARING to ASSUME we are as CULTURED as the Indonesians. For shame Malaysia!!

And who cares if thousands of poverty stricken women come here to earn a living and are able to support their families back in Indonesia? We abuse them! Three in every one hundred? Still? An abuse is an abuse! For shame Malaysia!!

I think the Indonesians are right. We deserved to be punished with primitive weapons.

Please do come attack us.

In return, to show you how very sorry we are, we shall revoke all citizenships and PRs offered to you, stop taking you in for jobs, stop providing relief whenever a natural disaster hits you.

Yesterday I went to the MidValley Megamall Police station to assist my friend in making a report. The details as to why we were there are insignificant, but the story as to how this L/KPL Asvin 107202 ended up calling me "perempuan gila" and threatened to arrest me, its quite a story.

As we walked into the police station, Ms. Asvin was chatting away on the phone while an old uncle was seated in front of her. This went on for 5 minutes. She then proceeded to end the call, made some small talk with the uncle and he proceeded to leave. She did not ask us why we were there nor did she acknowledge our presence. So, I went up to her and made the enquiries. She asked two half hearted questions and then proceeded to make a phone call on her mobile. She then continued to chat until I took her details down on a piece of paper. This was of course done on purpose in front of her.

As soon as she saw me doing that, she ended her call and shouted "APA PASAL YOU AMBIL NO SAYA?"
To which I replied "kenapa tak boleh?" The, actually no, HER madness then began.

She yelled AT me " you tak nampak saya bergayut atas telefon ke? Sekarang saya tolong you buat repot la!"
To which I said "saya memang nampak you borak atas telefon, walaupun ada dua orang duduk depan Puan untuk buat Repot."

To which she yells "You jangan ajar saya macam mana saya nak buat kerja ah!"
I replied that I was not in any way teaching her how to do her job, however I would have expected her to be more professional. And this of course incurred her wrath. She then threatened to ARREST me as I "maki hamun" her. Here she was yelling at me at the top of my voice, threatening to arrest me, saying that I "buat her angin". *followed by
pointing her finger to her temple*

I then gently reminded her that I was aware of my rights as I was practising as a lawyer and that if she insisted on arresting me for whatever reason, it would be her right to do so. The "lawyer" word further fanned her already burning anger (which would have scorched our faces had we been seated next to her) and she retorted "OH so you sangat berpelajaran la?! Saya sudah 20 tahun service tau!"

Now, as I cannot deny that I was "berpelajaran" (because I am honest that way) I nodded and said "Ya Puan, memang saya berpelajaran."

She then yells "Oh, jadi berpelajaran boleh biadap macam you la! Kurang ajar! You jangan tunjuk lagak di sini ah!" ( I swear her eyes were bulging out and would pop out at any minute)

At this point, I could no longer tolerate her bad behaviour and so I remarked " wah, dua puluh tahun service tapi masih duduk belakang counter ambil repot saja ka?"

She then picked up the phone to ask for security and said "Ada PEREMPUAN GILA di sini."

There was further yelling of how lawyers are always taking down police's particulars to complain and how I was very rude and lacked manners. I also reminded her that I was NOT the one doing all the yelling. She then proceeded to chase me out of the police station. I refused to budge and reminded her that " ini tempat awam untuk orang awam buat repot, kenapa saya tak boleh duduk sini?" Inflamed to the point of her cheeks turning a bright red, she told me to get off the chair and sit somewhere else. I of course refused and remain seated on
the chair in front of her.

10 minutes later (and followed by a lot of yelling on her part and amusement on my part)the security she called for arrived (funny how a police woman would need the shopping complex security to arrest me)
Security was represented by a rotund lady who came in asking what the problem was.Of course by the time this lady arrived Ms. Asvin had already calmed down a little and started processing my friend's report.

She then told my friend, "saya punya details sini kalau dia mau adu.Saya tak kisah pun."
It is funny how for a person who "tak kisah" she sure threw a big hissy fit when I took down her particulars.

At the end of the day, with the report in hand, we left the police station with two sets of eyes glaring and burning a big hole on my back.

I think by now, the fever has died down. The cow head protesters have finally been brought to court to be charged under the Sedition Act.

I am more shamed by this whole incident than I am angered.

I am shamed because the authorities were so biased in the handling of this matter, racism was literally oozing out of their pores. How can a Minister stand in front of the rakyat, of all races, and say that the protesters did not mean to offend the Hindus?

“They said that they were very conscious and all that they wanted to do was to voice their unhappiness about the willingness of the state government to listen to their requests. I was told that even the Hindus there are not so passionate that it is built there (section 23)," says Hishamuddin.
And to Khir Toyo, the controversy its just over a "stupid" animal. But the best has yet to come. He then continues to say :-

To Hindus, a cow is a SACRED animal. But to Khir Toyo, its STUPID animal. And because cows are STUPID animals, then it just so happened (mere coincidence) that they decided to severe the cow's head and march with it (and finally upon reaching its destination, step and spit on it) to protest against the building of a temple in Sec 23 of Shah Alam. It was by chance that the cow is also a sacred animal to the Hindus. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?! Mere coincidence.

(I mean, a pigs are generally known to be the "stupider" and lazier animal, so I would have thought that would have been a better choice for displaying "stupidity". )

Now, lets put the sheer stupidity and racist comments of the Ministers and Ex MB aside, does this episode not shame you? It shames me because I have been living in this country for all my life. And never have I even encountered a group of people so racist, they probably have their faces printed next to the word "RACIST" in the dictionary. And here it is for illustration purposes:-

I have never once thought, oh my, here comes another mosque built next to the Ipoh General Hospital. I think I should protest. Chinese, Indians, Non Muslims should protest the insensitive Muslims who built a mosque next to the Hospital. No sorry, not everybody finds your 5 times a day prayer calls soothing. (In fact God may not have agreed to its location as well seeing that the dome was struck by lightning and destroyed twice)
And I am sure nobody said why do you need a total of three mosques in the vicinity of Ampang (Bukit Indah area)? How about the Chinese residents there? Or maybe the people who live in PJ (predominantly Chinese) should protest a mosque built near Sec 14, or one in Uptown. Or Indians in Bangsar should have protested the big mosque standing next to BSC. Could have used that space for a big temple ? Or a church?

This is utterly ridiculous. It is SHAMEFUL. Shameful that these people parade around waving their hands like celebrities. Thinking they have done a wonderful thing "protecting" their religion and their race. But in all honesty, what it has done is merely showcasing your IGNORANCE. That you're not but a RACIST SCUMBAG. And your children ought to be ashamed that you call yourself a Malaysian. For years you live side by side or work side by side people of other races, and in private you spit on them and their religion? And now given an opportunity, you march on the streets and insult their religion? If I were your child, I would be ashamed that you gave birth to me.

The Hindus in Sec 23 have been quiet about this whole episode. To them, it does not matter whether the temple will be in Sec 23 or Sec 19. It probably means its just a walk or a drive away for them. They prefer not to make it a big issue by saying something about this protest. You know what that shows? It shows that they respect your religion and your views. If indeed you think SHAH FREAKING ALAM is an EXCLUSIVE MUSLIM territory, then by all means, let the temple be somewhere else. Who wants a place of religion be built on land filled with hate? I wouldnt.

The Information, Communication and Culture Ministry had put in this condition, apart from telling the brewery not to put any logos or sell the bitter-sweet brew at the concert."

So Black Eyed Peas will play to a concert of no Guiness logos, no Guiness drinks and no Muslims.

"Music concert rules disallow breweries or alcoholic drinks makers from sponsoring such events but the ministry relented as the concert is expected to boost the tourism industry affected by the recession and the A(H1N1) flu outbreak. "

So the concert is held to boost tourism. But effectively by banning Muslims, this kills off tourism from Indonesia and the Middle East. true? And also Singapore and Thailand visitors who happen to be Muslims. And maybe even China as one of the largest Muslim population is found in China. So essentially by tourism, we mean only gwailos from European countries and also from America. Bu truthfully, how many of these gwailos make up the tourist numbers in Malaysia?

And in all honesty, if I am American, "I definitely won't be like, coming to Malaysia, like to you know, like watch BEP here. Like." (Americans and their overuse of the word like. I can never get it.) Besides they get to party in black carpet VIP parties all throughout Canada.

And that goes to same to Europeans. There they can probably watch the BEP performances unhindered.Concerts are planned in Dublin and London. No "decent" dressing. No censorship of obscene material.
So why would anybody travel to Malaysia to watch the Arthur's Day performance of BEP?

Essentially, the BEP performance is to cater to Malaysians and those from South East Asia. Indonesia only gets a bus safari travelling through 10 of its key cities from October ok? We get BEP and Reshmonu (but that is irrelevant).

So, essentially how does it boost tourism when you ban Muslims at the concert?

AND if the Guiness brew will NOT be served at the concert, why can't Muslims attend the concert?BECAUSE it is sponsored by an alcohol company that is why they should not "taint" themselves by attending it? So then they should either stop the alcohol ads in cinemas or ban Muslims from going there and exposing themselves to those ads. Ban Muslims from going on holidays at places where alcohol is widely advertised?

This logic of banning Muslims is so utterly ridiculous, I don't know whether to laugh. Or to cry.

I feel sorry for the Muslims. If I could tell them, I would say, I am sorry Rais Yatim is an eejit. I am sorry Datuk Dr. Hasan Ali is a double eejit. I am so sorry. It really is not my fault. But I am sorry nonetheless.

I feel so blessed to live in Malaysia. Where the politicians say : do not make everything a race issue.

They ban "pornographic" pages like gutteruncensored because they run pictures of Minister's children having beer and living decadently. Because some pictures of Ministers appear with another woman, who is obviously not his wife. They ban those websites. Write things which do not paint them in a good light, they charge the bloggers under the Sedition Act and ISA, and throw them in jail.

And they also try to ban or restrict access MalaysiaToday, Malaysiakini, they barge into offices of any publications which do not worship the ground that they walk on. They revoke the license of the Herald because they used the word "ALLAH". Apparently that word is exclusive to Islam only. I don't know who died and made them Muslim's "library of acceptable words that Non Muslims can use" key keeper.

But THIS pages you see above. They remain alive and well. They remain there to spit on all races except Islam. They remain there to degrade others who do not share their logic and outlook. They call themselves graduates. These graduates whom the Government has created a special quota to ensure they get into universities. The ones who remain here to incite racial hatred.And we somehow see the newspapers yell "BRAIN DRAIN" when the good and brainy ones never bother to come back to a country that does not appreciate them. Gee.

While I sat fuming in my car, stuck in a massive jam on Saturday, I did not think to myself "Its okay. They are doing this for the abolishment of the ISA."

I thought "&%#$$?!?*&. These people deserved to be shot in the head for causing this jam."

No, this is not because I am PRO-ISA (as some people have claimed) but it is purely because I have always been anti street protests. I have always been because like I have said a million times before, and a million times now, it makes no F*king difference whether you go to the streets to show your dissatisfaction or not. In fact, the jam that you caused, the inconveniences that you caused, only made people who were sitting on the fence (and no pro government or pro opposition) MORE likely than not lean towards the ruling party.

Because simply put, if I were a trader in Masjid Jamek, where the protesters threw sand in my rice pots and broke my wares, I do NOT care if I will be arrested and put in detention without trial. It will more likely than not, not affect me because I am but a man trying to eke a living. I do not involve myself in politics. And frankly, I sit at home not wondering about laws like the ISA, in fact I sit at home and I wonder whether my business will be good tomorrow. Whether I can make enough money to support my family.

And when hordes of people attack my business on a so called mission to change a law, the likelihood of which will not affect me, I get bloody upset. I get pissed that my cash for that day is affected. Do you think I will be voting for you in the next general election? HAH!

I am not saying that people who are less educated, or are of a lower income can be easily bought (much like how some parties give out cash/cows/bicycles to win votes) but these people do not care about the abolishment of laws that will not affect them, or whether Anwar gets a fair trial or not, or whether Sivarasa is remanded or not. They care about their rice bowl. So PKR, what are you doing to protect my rice bowl? By marching on the streets? Holding rallies in Kelana Jaya? Getting everybody riled up and angry with the government? Then what happens when we go home? We still go home empty handed but with a fiery temper. Tomorrow when I go to work, I still suffer the same problems. Tomorrow my standard of living still does not improve.

Know your voters. Know your rakyat.

It is a BIG FALLACY to think that a bunch of people maching on the streets can EVER do it peacefully. Please. What were you born yesterday?? IN MALAYSIA?

Hah. You have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME.

Let me repeat that in case you missed it.

A CHINESE man died.

To me, it did not really matter that he was CHINESE, to me it mattered that a fellow Malaysian had died. While in the custody of the MACC- a commission which objective is to stamp out corruption.
To my mind, I asked a million questions but none of those involved Teoh's race because it never, NEVER occurred to me that this was a Malay vs. Non-Malay battle.

To me, Teoh, regardless of his race/ religion/ political affiliations, is first and foremost, a person.

He is also a son. A husband to be. A father to be. A brother. And a friend.

He was never to me a PKR Chinese man.

And I abhor how everybody has seen his death from a racial/political view. Everyone, BN and PKR included has seen it fit to politicise the matter. the DPM has found it appropriate to remind BN component parties not to be shaken by this matter and to remain united.
PKR has seen it fit to yell BN's control of all government agencies are directed against the opposition and that we should all rise to fight this evil power.

I say, please. Pause.

I do not think it matters to Teoh's parents/ fiancee/family that his death was or was not because he was a chinese or a PKR supporter. To them, it matters that he is now dead. Many send condolence messages to his family, but it all comes with "we must rise against the evil powers of the ruling parties" or "MACC is evil". Even those who attended the funeral found it fit to wrap themselves in banners and poster and flood the whole procession with calls for "a Commission" and whatnot.

Are you there to mourn his death? Or are you there to rally for support for the party you are affiliated to?

TO many of us, we mourn his death. From a person to another.
Not as BN/UMNO/PKR/DAP/Gerakan/PAS 's supporters.

I don't know about you, but when I said a prayer for Teoh, I sure did not say "I hope the powers to be will suffer from this death and cause their downfall in the next election."

Unless you've been living under a rock, you would know today's headlines screams "POLITICAL SECRETARY FOUND DEAD AT MACC'S OFFICE".

The body of Teoh Hock Beng, 30, was found dead on the 5th floor of the MACC office building. As of 9pm yesterday, his body was still in the same position and on the same floor with police swarming around it. God only knows why nobody removed the body which had been discovered since 1.30pm.

Of course everybody (who cared enough to wonder about our stinky political scene) speculated that this was not a simple case of Teoh being under pressure after being questioned by the MACC on the probe into allegations of misuse of allocations by several state assemblymen, thereby taking his own life. He was taken into questioning since Wednesday evening and was only released (only to be told to come back the next day with documents) at 3.45am. (I didn't know Government/Government controlled officers worked past 4.30pm)

How can this man, who was to be married the next day to his fiancee, and described by many colleagues and ex colleagues as a man with "faith in life" and one who was "strong", could have possibly taken his own life and over this issue which the MACC has alleged "did not involved him, but he was merely a witness to it."?
Many questions are left unanswered.

Some things that pop up in my head:-
1. Ean Yong, the Seri Kembangan state assemblyman, and also employer of Teoh, was not allowed to speak to him when he went to MACC at around midnight and was also not informed of his death.
2. Teoh apparently loitered around the building after he was released from questioning. In the first place, why would MACC officers allow a person brought in for questioning loiter around their office? And at 3.45am in the morning?
3. How can the MACC building not have any CCTVs?The court complex has it. Even apartments have it. Small mini markets have it. Hotels have it. Most government offices have it. But MACC does not? Weird.

And I find it really amusing that Selangor police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said police would conduct a thorough investigation into Teoh’s death and pledged “no cover-up.”

They actually have to pledge that there will be no cover up. It makes me wonder about the faith that we have in our authorities on their professionalism. The police have to make a pledge that there will be no cover up because the majority of us already know/feel that there will/may be some form of cover up. After all, this involves a member of the opposition party. Not the government in power.

I wouldn't be surprise if the initial classification of "sudden death" remains. And now that Teoh has passed, nobody outside of the MACC will ever know what he had to say about this whole fiasco. For me, its not even about whodunnit. Because I do not want to speculate. However I wonder why a man aged 30, would kill himself (if he had done so) on the eve of his marriage registration? What happened in the MACC office during questioning? What happened between the hours of 345am to 6am (last seen alive) to make this man want to take his life? Or for someone else to take away his life? What type of political filth are we currently dealing with that a man had to resort to killing himself/be killed? I tremble at the thought.

So many questions we hope we will get answers too. Because a dead man cannot speak. We can only cross our fingers that those who are tasked to find evidence to speak on his behalf, will be honest, truthful and have a conscience to ensure justice is done.

However today I am comforted by the fact that perhaps, DSAI would actually have a fair trial before Justice Zabidin Mohd Diah. Finally, a judge who recognises that under Section 51A of the Criminal Procedure Code, the Accused is allowed access to witness statements. For years, us defence lawyers have been fighting for access to these statements. Simply because a man on trial, who is entitled to a fair trial, should know what these people have said AGAINST him or FOR him. But all these while, the prosecution had reserved the element of surprise. If there is something against the Accused, the use it in FULL FORCE, if there is anything FOR the Accused, its classified "privileged".

I say it is about time Malaysia buck up. We are so far behind in the development of the law we should all be ashamed.

Now, this fashion designer had beaten out 25 other contestants to win the crown.
So she sashayed down the runway, waving her beauty queen wave. Smiling and thinking "IMMA WINNER IMMA WINNER!"

Then she changes her mind.
She decides, NAH, I can't make the trip to China to represent Malaysia in the Model of the World contest.

I guess someone must have whispered in her ear after she was announced the winner that she would actually HAVE to travel to China to represent Malaysia.
So she decided, NAH, I think I will switch my crown with the runner up and let HER do the travelling to China because of my so called alleged spine injury surgery which I think may hinder me from properly representing Malaysia. (at least she has Malaysia's interest at heart, no?)

Then she changes her mind again.

She decides, you know what? I think I can make it. I think I'll go to China after all!

Except that the organisers decided that she can take her fickle mindedness elsewhere and/or shove it up her you know where.

But wait, the best is yet to come :-

The tourism Minister then goes on to say :-

“One million in Europe gets you nothing nowadays,” she said, defending the appointment.

And of course, the thing that made me want to put on a full face of make up, get dressed and rush out the door to pat her on the back is this:-

"She added that Todt was chosen for his international presence and connectivity, which would give Malaysia greater visibility.

Ng claimed that Todt had personally helped the ministry make influential contacts in Paris, including a top film producer, magazine publisher and aides of French president Nicolas Sarkozy."

Well, I dont know about the rest of you, but I would love to know who the "top film producer" is. And also who this "magazine publisher" is and of course, the AIDES of the Sarkozy.

Cos I am just WAITING in anticipation for these people to come over because Jean Todt somehow managed to "INFLUENCE" them to:-

1) invest in Malaysia; OR

2) make a film in Malaysia; OR

3) mention the name "Malaysia" in their movie/magazine; OR

4) Suddenly the Frech Prez is going to ask Airbus to stop charging Malaysia so much for their damned Airbus; OR

5) Give Air Asia/MAS free Airbus.

Its TOTALLY WORTH THE RM1 MILLION EUROS. totally. 100%.

Of course it would not make any sense to get a Malaysian to promote Malaysia. What rubbish! What do you mean Zang Toi would be a good choice? Who is he?! Jimmy Choo? What do WE care that he once dressed Princess Diana's feet?

We prefer someone who is French and has a Malaysian girlfriend. Someone who was at one time some big arse in Ferrari. Someone whom nobody really knows actually but somehow has links to A top movie producer, magazine publisher and Sarkozy's aides.

Impressive aint it? That is why he was a natural choice. We appreciate Todt so much, we even awarded him a Datukship. Just by doing Michelle Yeoh, I mean, just by having a Malaysian girlfriend, he got a Datukship. At least Shah Rukh Khan had to MAKE a movie here first.

This is a case of constitutional importance. Which will affect all of Perak. In fact one which will affect all Malaysians. This is the case which will show the impartiality, independence and soundness of the judiciary (and of the legitimacy of the Government).
But the judiciary/government/BN-UMNO has decided ONE JUDGE will seal the deal.

To know what is right vs knowing how to do it right

This morning, a fellow lawyer and friend asked me if I would be attending the EGM this Friday.
Firstly I said "what EGM?" and secondly I said "What for?"

I was then asked to watch this video:-

After watching this video, I was asked to read a blog of one of the lawyers here.

So like I said in my previous posting, I said the lawyers may have threatened or demanded to see those arrested and I said I was not there and I stand corrected. So, here I admit, there were no threats, but clearly from the video you can see that they were insistent and demanded to see those arrested.

Firstly, yes, these as you can see, are very junior lawyers much like myself. And it is normal to come full with ideals of the law and the rights of the accused and the rights of lawyers to represent the accused persons. However, any seasoned lawyer will tell you that there really is no need for aggression.

Obviously the OCPD was fuming. Obviously if he was already shouting TANGKAP TANGKAP like a mad idiot shows that it probably would not do you any good to stand outside after he had yelled for all of you to bersurai to keep staying there and insisting to be allowed inside. To be fair to the police, whenever anyone is arrested, they are not given any access to the lawyers until perhaps a little later or the next day. Why should these people who were arrested for holding the candlelight vigil be any different? (Of course the reason as to why they were arrested is laughable and beyond idiocy but that is a different story altogether)

I am not saying that the lawyers were not doing what they should have done, I am saying that it could have been done differently. Where were the senior lawyers? Why is it that a bunch of young inexperienced lawyers were sent out there to "fight for the rights" of those who had their rights violated?

I am sorry, but I still stand by my belief. I know what is right, but I also know how it should be done and the way it was done as shown in the video above, is just not it.

Why lawyers are annoying

You know what it is about lawyers which is so annoying? The I am greater than thou attitude. The YOU KNOW WHO I AM OR NOT? YOU KNOW WHAT I DO?

That is all bullshit man. Surgeons around the world are doing face transplants, doctors around the world are saving lives, scientists around the world are looking for cures for AIDS and coming up with artificial eyes for the blind and Stephen Hawking is still a living, breathing talking man despite his condition. Those people, if they want to gloat a little, or maybe yell YOU KNOW WHAT I DO OR NOT? Well, they can.

But lawyers. Damn. Those people are just annoying.

Yesterday I received a text at around 12am from a friend who informed me that 5 lawyers were arrested in the Brickfields police station. Now, I have mentioned before in here that I DO NOT subscribe to street protests and useless gatherings and demonstrations. Because to me, that does not solve anything, in fact it makes the authorities even more agitated and more inclined to show what type of power they can yield.

I gently reminded my friend that perhaps, these gathering of lawyers for a show of power is not the best solution. Perhaps, the Bar Council president who was there, ought to have pulled the OCPD aside and asked, NICELY, whether he could have maybe a minute or two to see the arrested lawyers and to see how they intend to proceed with the matter.

Instead, I can bet my life, the lawyers yelled and shouted, screamed and kicked up a fuss about not being able to see their fellow brothers in robes. In fact, I think these screaming,kicking,fussing and demanding was probably what got them arrested in the first place. But I was not there, so I stand corrected. However what I WILL say is this:-

Sure, the PDRM can be considered a piece of dog shit when it comes to being impartial. They are biased, much like every government agency is, but I think, it is hardly justifiable for the police man/men who sat in the Brickfields police station to haul 5 lawyers into the cells just because the ASKED to see those who were arrested during the candlelight vigil. I sincerely, truly doubt it. What I sincerely truly believed is that the lawyers made a fuss, a big whole ruckus, possibly made some legal threats, maybe spit a little (say it, dont spray it) and did some table banging and INSISTED they be GIVEN THE LEGAL RIGHT to have representation.

Darling, legal rights exists. But yelling it on top of your lungs and demanding it isnt going to get you anywhere. Mahatma Gandhi didnt get where he did by yelling his right as an Indian citizen to freedom. Tunku Abdul Rahman did not stomp the British offices demanding Malaya's independence because it was OUR RIGHT TO BE FREE! No siree, it was done properly, peacefully and rightfully.

So, all my brothers in robes out there, please, press pause.

Knowing what is right and doing it properly is one thing but knowing what is right, and insisting, demanding, threatening and yelling it has to be done the LEGAL way is really, another winding, slow path to death.

shame vs pride. which one are you?

Today, some of us will feel a surge of pride. While some will drown in shame. And those who know what is right or wrong, will know which emotion to subscribe to.

Barisan Nasional has proven to us once again why, when Najib told us that he was the man of all Malaysians(the ONE MALAYSIA concept which he so cleverly coined) it was nothing but a big fat joke.

It is a big fat joke because us Malaysians living in Perak want fresh elections when our so called representatives allegedly resigned. We the Malaysians in Perak want our rightful Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Nizar to remain our Menteri Besar. We the Malaysians in Perak really hoped and wished that Hee the betrayer of not only residents in Jelapang but of all PR supporters, had instead of tearing the RM50 note offered by Thomas Su to Ganesan the impromptu speaker, taken it and done what Thomas Su had suggested which is to "go and die".

We the Malaysians in Ipoh want all of the above. So, if you are a man of all Malaysians, why do you not heed what we want? Why do you forcefully remove our rightful speaker from his seat

and placed an idiot who keeps adjourning the assembly under the advice of someone else because he does not know the procedure? What type of democracy are you subscribing to? Obviously it is not the same one that I subscribe to.

What excuse do you have for the fracas that happened in Perak? Are you closing an eye to what is happening ? Are you petrified that us Malaysians in Ipoh/Perak will throw out BN without even a sec, or a milisecond of hesitation?

You should be very afraid.

And that is why you tremble in fear when there are calls for fresh elections. When you know you can wriggle and illegally force your way through with corrupt money and corrupt politicians, why bother with the proper way? It makes sense that if you are in Penanti and you know its a lose lose situation, you call your decision not to contest as "saving the taxpayers money". But when there is a possibility you can corruptly buy your way into the hearts of the voters and politicians, you splash out millions and millions in your campaigning.

Today, I KNOW I surge in pride for all whom have stood up for what they believed in. Whether it be wearing black, standing in the hot sun outside the State Secretariat Building, donning your robes inside or refusing to give up your proper rightful seat, you should all be proud.

*shock horror.ohmygawd.is this true?

Deputy Federal Territories Minister Datuk M.Saravanan was shocked to find that instead of attending to patients who were waiting at the emergency department, two doctors were reading newspapers and minding their own business and doing his own stuff.

First of all, why is he shocked? Are you shocked ? I am not. It is not unusual for government doctors(also every other government servant) to idle around "minding their own business".
Let digress to a conversation I had with a court staff the other day.

Me: *calls out to court staff who came out of the office to pass something to someone at the counter* Puan, En. Azman ada?
Civil Servant: Guna telephone.
Me: Dah cuba tapi tak ada orang angkat telefon. Boleh check sama ada En. Azman ada kat dalam?(They are all in the same office, possibly around 20 tables in there)
CS: Dia tak angkat dia takde-la. *quickly shuffles away*

ANYWAY,back to the story.

After all, emergency means nothing to them. Emergency is maybe a rank below "I dont give a rat's ass" or just a little above " I dun give two rats ass".

Anyway, the best quote of the day goes to *drum roll* HKL Director Datuk Dr. Zaininah Mohd Zain for this gem of a saying :-

After all, pain apparently has its own measurement in Government hospitals.

I BET, not a lot of you know that Malaysia is SO blardy high tech that we are the ONLY country in the world with a chip based passport(or if we are not, we are the pioneer)? And also the first country in the world to introduce a chip based credit card?(The Americans have no idea how to use it) And also identification cards which require your fingerprints to be verified for its authenticity? (Let us thank IRIS for all that)
(I know, all of you can gasp in disbelief, but Malaysia is WAY MORE HIGH TECH than Microsoft. TAKE THAT BILL GATES!)
(THIS is when I feel compelled to yell MALAYSIA BOLEH!)

The story is, whatshisname, oh yea ex-President Bush asked his Cabinet - "why is it that a small country like Malaysia can come up with such a FANTASTIC technology like the chip based passport, but we can't?" (this is a true story, cos I heard it from someone who is closely connected to IRIS)

So what is the use of this super high tech chip based passport? To make detecting people easier. The rumour is that eventually, the Government will make the chip on our identification cards GPS enabled. So that each and every person can be detected. (Privacy? Bah Humbug!) So, currently our passport is so blardy high tech, wherever we go, we realise that other countries are so low tech, we still have to line up to have the passport checked by a human being. Sheesh.

Anyway, the whole point of my rant is this.

Malaysia is so high tech. Passport high tech? Check. ID card high tech? Check. ATM card high tech? Check. Credit Card high tech? Check.

But, still we get this :-

Is it excessive for the Chinese to be upset that the DPM indicated that they were UNGRATEFUL for ALL that the government has given them?Is it beyond madness for the East Malaysians to feel excluded by us here in the West? Would Malays like it if the Chinese say they were arrogant and selfish? Or if Indians called them power crazy?

What is a coalition?

A coalition roughly translates into AN ALLIANCE.

An ALLIANCE is roughly presumed to mean one needs the other to survive. What was the whole point of asking MIC and MCA to join UMNO and form BN? Possibly to appeal to a larger part of society, to every race and to every religion. Albeit, on the surface it LOOKS as if BN may be protecting the interest of "ethnic minorities" (hereinafter referred to as EM) when in fact the politicians in there who are supposedly representing EM's interest are more gung ho about protecting their own pockets.

Anyway, I digress.

So, what is all this shit about ONE MALAYSIA?

From an excerpt from a press conference, PM Najib explains his version of ONE MALAYSIA:-

Mengambil tindakan-tindakan berdasarkan kehendak SEMUA kumpulan etnik (all actions to be taken based on the needs of ALL ETHNIC groups)BUT tidak mengenepikan dasar afirmatif untuk menolong kaum bumiputera dengan cara adil ( not to put aside the affirmative foundation of helping the bumiputeras as long as it is fair).

How does one take action based on the needs of all ethnic groups IF there is a condition or a exclusionary clause of Bumiputera's taking first place? Or bumiputeras having the AFFIRMATIVE or guaranteed help from the Government as long as it is fair(I would love to know the concept of fair in the Government's books)?

Essentially the PM is saying this, "Look, under ONE MALAYSIA we as the government are saying that we will(try) to listen to all ethnic groups before we take any action BUT please be reminded, essentially, we care more abt the Bumiputeras and hence if it is fair to them (the definition and concept of fair is probably VERY VERY flagrant) their needs and their wants will be put above,before and beyond the rest of you (who probably do not matter)."

Come on, isn't the success of Malaysia a collective effort of all races? How did Malaya emerge from the Occupation? Or free themselves from the Japanese? The Malays did it themselves? The Indians or the Chinese did it themselves?

Enough of this segregation. Enough of this in fighting. It sickens the rakyat to the core to know that while the new PM seems to want a united Malaysia, essentially it is merely a sham. It is a sham when the people working for him spew out gems like "chinese are ungrateful" or that 'the malays should unite against ethnic minorities". And it is a bigger sham and shame when he does nothing to ask them to stop.

It is indeed a big big shame that with a new PM, we expected new beginnings and a new era. We were all hopeful. Grateful even for a change in leadership. But as usual, the higher your expectations, the greater the disappointment.

And today merely marks day 13th of his tenure. And already the shit has hit the fan.

Unpaid summonses does not equal negligence

You know what I do not get? I do not get why newspapers/blogs who report on accidents must make it a point to dig out how many traffic summonses the driver has.

The recent bus accident along the North South highway was no exception. ALL headlines must be such :-

"Double Decker bus overturns, DRIVER HAS 8 SUMMONSES"

Ok, so he has eight unpaid summonses and in fact some warrants of arrest were issued. (shows how efficient our police are- warrant of arrest issued but no arrests were made)

Does that automatically mean that he is a BAD driver? And that automatically means that the cause of the accident was the driver's negligence/recklessness or due to his bad driving?

Have none of you ever been issued a summons for the stupidest thing ever? Like the road that leads out of Hartamas where the policemen hide behind the bushes to catch us "speeding"? To me its termed "speeding" because the speed limit there is a god forsaken ancient Roman times speed of 60km per hour. And all you need to do is go a little beyond that and the police jump out of the bushes and catch you and issue you a summons. Or if you are on a highway and the speed is 110km p/hr, and you happen to go beyond that by a little, say, 120, and ta-da, you will receive a summons in your mail.

So, what if the very next day you are involved in an accident, which causes fatalities, would it be fair to you if the headlines read " WOMAN KILLED IN ROAD ACCIDENT, MANY UNPAID SUMMONSES?"

WTF? Just because you happen to say, speed along the highways or some roads with stupid speed limits, does not mean you are a bad driver or any accidents which involves you is definitely caused by negligence.
I have to agree with my father when he said that most accidents happen not because the driver was driving too fast, it was due to inexperience on the highways. Many of these drivers have not left their kampungs or hometowns before and so they either drive TOO slow, causing a traffic jam or drive too fast not knowing the bends or the slopes and donwhills on the highways.

So, a traffic summons does NOT, I repeat DOES NOT spell RECKLESSNESS. It may be ONE of the assumptions, but it does not ALWAYS spell recklessness.

Imagine you were the family of the bus driver and all headlines scream that your father/husband or son was the cause of the accident just because he has EIGHT UNPAID SUMMONSES, how would you feel?

I would feel like crap. Especially if I know, the summonses were stupid summonses which the traffic police are hell bent on giving in Malaysia. What if one of it was because he did not wear his rear seat belt?

Stupid isn't it?

This man said that the "emergency session" of the (Perak) state assembly, held under a tree, was to embarrass the nation in the eyes of the world.

"I don't want to speculate but we can see that they had prepared for the session, with some carrying posters that read 'The World is Watching'."

"It was as if the session was staged for the world to see."

Now I do not see how a constitutional and democratic act such as holding the emergency session, albeit under a tree, can be an embarrassment to the nation in the eyes of the world. Theoretically, should the State Legislative building burn down or be flooded due to the incessant rain which has been whiplashing us in Malaysia recently, does that mean Perak's administrative wheel stops turning while it awaits a new building to be built? Or wait for the water to recede? Rationally, it is not the PLACE that matters, it is the people who attend it, that does. Speaker? CHECK. Assembly men? CHECK. Suspended assembly men not present? CHECK.
Seems perfectly legitimate to me.

If I were the eyes of the world, I would think this :- "What brave men!" "Upholding their constitutional right and fighting for the interest of the Perak-ians."

That is what I would think. After all, the rest of the world have been quiet about this. No one has criticised the legitimate Perak government for upholding their rights.

So Mr. Zambry, let me show you what actually embarrasses the nation in the eyes of the world. It is this :-

I do not know about you Zambry, but I can feel my cheeks burning from the shame of it all.

Shame that the EYES OF THE WORLD see Malaysia, the so called MODEL ISLAMIC nation, taking a Major step back. Regressing. Going backwards.

That is shame to me. I am embarrassed by that. That stupidity manifests in all forms, shapes and sizes in our administration. That our government and law makers in addition to the act of stupidity and absurdity above also think that Karpal Singh ought to be hauled to court and charged under the Sedition Act for allegedly suggesting that the Sultan of Perak be sued for not dissolving the state assembly and declaring the unlawful grab (in Dr. M's own words) of power by the BN in Perak as legitimate.

So today the headlines SCREAMED "UMNO YOUTH BLAMES DAP FOR PARLIAMENT FRACAS".

You see this UMNO youth mafia wannabe(its not their fault, DAP started it), just SO happened to be at the Parliament grounds and just SO happened met Karpal Singh and they just NICELY approached him to ask him about the incident where Karpal referred to them as "celaka".

Apparently they asked him nicely like this " APA PASAL YOU PANGGIL KITA CELAKA?" YOU CAKAP SEKALI LAGI!SAYA NAK DENGAR DENGAN TELINGA SAYA SENDIRI" "YOU TAK PAYAH PERGI PARLIMEN LA, BAWA MASALAH KEPADA NEGARA SAJA!"

The police are apparently investigating the matter but we know what the outcome will be. We are not born yesterday. We know whose side these people are.

I do not even need to take 5 minutes to "investigate" the matter, and here is a list of offences these UMNO Youth people can be charged with, if the police are as Mesra, Cekap and Betul as they claim themselves to be.

Section 339 Penal Code :-
Whoever voluntarily obstructs any person, so as to prevent that person from proceeding in any direction in which that person has a right to proceed, is said wrongfully to restrain that person.

The punishable section is Section 341 of the Penal Code:-
"...punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one month, or with fine which may extend to one thousand ringgit, or both."

Section 340 of the Penal Code:-
"Whoever wrongfully restrains any person in such a manner as to prevent that person from proceeding beyond certain circumscribing limits, is said to "wrongfully confine" that person."

Punishable section is Section 342:-
"...shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine which may extend to two thousand ringgit, or with both."

And then there is Section 351 ASSAULT :-
Whoever makes any gesture or preparation, intending or knowing it to be likely that such gesture or preparation will cause any person present to apprehend that he who makes that gesture or preparation is about to use criminal force to that person, is said to commit an assault.

Section 355:-
Whoever assaults or uses criminal force to any person intending thereby to dishonour that person, otherwise than on grave and sudden provocation given by that person, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.

Section 357:-
Whoever assaults or uses criminal force to any person, in attempting wrongfully to confine that person, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine which may extend to two thousand ringgit, or with both.

So there PDRM, when will you finish investigating? Hey AG, what are you busy doing??

Religion reigns over humanity

A quick look at this picture and one would never assume he died a "NATURAL DEATH". However that is what the 10 policemen who arrested him and questioned him said.
"He suddenly collapsed after he drank some water."

And that is what the first post mortem said:- "fluid in his lungs".

However, from a second post mortem, it has been revealed that:-

"The UMMC pathologist declared, based on the post-mortem, that Kugan was beaten so badly that his tissues broke down and his kidneys failed, Surendran said.

The pathologist also found that Kugan had suffered hemorrhaging in his trachea, chest, spleen, stomach, the back of his neck and spine, and there were also signs of hemorrhaging in his heart.

The soles of his feet had many bruises caused by beatings and he also suffered blunt trauma to his skull."

Hence, this obviously means he did not just collapse and die. He was beaten to death.

Now, what the AG has done is to reclassify the case as MURDER.One would think that is the logical decision after being informed from the second post mortem that it was indeed the incessant beating that killed Kugan.

Well not for these two NGOs. The Islamic Missionaries and Welfare Malaysia(PEKIDA) and People's Action Front (Barisan Bertindak Rakyat).

PEKIDA:- Tujuan / Matlamat PEKIDA

1. Mempertahankan kedudukan Raja-raja Melayu dan hak istimewa orang Melayu dalam Perlembagaan Negara.
2. Menangani hambatan dan cabaran yang mengancam perpaduan Melayu.
3. Menggandakan tindakan ke arah kemajuan orang Melayu merangkumi aspek Duniawi dan Ukhrawi.
4. Meningkatkan kesedaran di kalangan pegawai-pegawai Melayu di dalam perkhidmatan kerajaan supaya mematuhi dan memelihara kepentingan agenda Melayu dalam pelaksanaan dasar-dasar kerajaan yang diamanahkan kepada mereka.

So, from a quick reading of their objectives, missions and er, aims, it does not involve standing up for anyone who is NOT MUSLIM. So hence, this the reason why they lodged a police report against the AG for classifying the investigation of Kugan's death under murder.The reason being the first post mortem said he died of fluid in his lunds. And hence, the AG's decision is against the medical expert's views.

SO, logically speaking, logic being the logic adopted by PEKIDA and BBR(I abbreviated it myself), just because ONE BIASED medical report said he died from fluid in his lungs it MUST mean that is the ONLY way he could have died and the massive injuries which is shown in pictures and on video is a fallacy. (He must have fallen and injured himself and perhaps he may have burnt himself with a iron rod too)

Now, I do not know much about PEKIDA or BBR, but to lodge a police report even though this man has been violently beaten and killed? A human being, a person's right to live violently snatched away? A parent's son murdered by people who are supposed to protect us from harm? And just because he is NOT MUSLIM they protest??? What if Kugan was a Muslim? Will Pekida and BBR challenge the AG's decision?

What type of a sick, perverted, selfish, irrational, inhumane type of organisation are those two? Where is your humanity?!

So the big brouhaha about the use of the word ALLAH. These people who yell and shout about the improper use of the word which they believe is exclusive to Islam and to Muslims who are Malay are uneducated. Like RPK said in his article, China was the first to embrace Islam. Chinese Muslims were way ahead of the Malay Muslims. And in Arab worlds, Allah is used to describe God.

They (being UMNO) ask why not use the word TUHAN? Which in Malay means God, but why should the Herald use TUHAN when ALLAH is the official word for GOD? It says so in the Arabic translation of the Bible. So, now these Malay Muslims are challenging the Arabs and their translation? Or you doubt the authenticity of the language of the Arabs? Who died and made you God of languages?

Even PAS, the party who is forefront in promoting Islam has come out to say that Non-Muslims can use the word Allah.

I will not suddenly have convulsions and break into cold sweat that the God, or the religion that I have grown up with or I have chosen to follow suddenly has a change of name and may actually be tied to Hinduism (though it is but that is another story altogether) and hence I will no longer understand what the heck Buddhism is all about and be blindly following Hinduism. Is that the type of confusion every one is talking about? Because I seriously do not know what other confusions there may be.

Why are Malay Muslims(mostly UMNO and some lost PAS and PKR ones) always so petrified of this so called dilution of their religion? One would think if you are strong enough in your belief, people can spit in your face and call you what ever names they can think of,and you will smile and say what you always LOVE to say when faced with damning evidence contrary to what you allege to be, which is "Only God can judge me".

So if you believe that Only God can judge you, then why force others to bend the way that you insist they do? Let God judge the others. Let God decide on who the so called heretics are because punishment in this earthly world is nothing if you go by the book of your religion, only judgment after death is what we should all be afraid of. This world that we are living in now, is merely temporary. Where we all strive to be the best that we can. And if others do not see what you see, or believe what you believe, Let GOD JUDGE THEM.

Do not place yourself in the shoes of someone you are not worthy to be and judge others.

When it comes to complaints against BN people, its "we are investigating" OR, "investigations are going on" or "the investigating authorities are mum on the status of the investigations".

If it is taking too long, its because "it is still under investigations". This is what I perceive to be happening in the interview room with BN politicians accused of corruption :-

Then after this scenario (which repeats with all BN men accused of corruption), then this public statement is released " we have forwarded the papers to the AG's chambers for further consideration. "

BUT when it comes to PKR members, it "WE HAVE STRONG EVIDENCE AGAINST KHALID(or whoever- just fill in the blanks)"

This is an image of a couple who allegedly got it on in an x ray room in some hospital. Apparently the man works there and he snuck his lady friend into the room to get some action. And they filmed it as a momento of their great escapade.

When I look at this picture, I think tsk tsk, he could have been more discreet with it. Sure, who are we to judge this two hor- I mean, amorous people who want to get it on in a public place? I am sure we have our very own skeletons in our closets. We do not know what people do behind closed doors and we sure as hell do not want people to know what WE do behind closed doors. So, while I tsk tsk his indiscretion, I do not tut-tut his right to do what he did. After all, humans are put on the planet to enjoy the company of each other.

So, this brings me to the main topic of the post. What is up with the big brouhaha with Elizabeth Wong's photos? In the first place, they are merely naked pictures, whether in "compromising" positions or not. People are entitled to take pictures of themselves. Politicians, presidents, neighbours, friends and colleagues alike. They want to take naked pictures of themselves, who are we to stop them? After all, we do not throw a disgusted look at those who cam-whore to the max when it comes to bombarding facebook with pictures of nobody else but themselves (albeit fully or semi clothed- so why should nudity cause such a furore? Its just plus minus some clothes but essentially the same thing)

It does not mean they are any less a good politician, a great friend or a fantastic co-worker. It is just merely a preferance as to what they like to do in their private hours and in their own time. (I have shared my views on this in regards to the Chua Soi Lek episode) Of course if a video or pictures are leaked of say a politician dressed in S&M clothing, holding a whip and spanking a child, then I will say WHOA! Maybe just maybe this piece of information about him or her is a gauge of what type of person and politician he is. Better to get him out!

But harmless naked pictures, hey I am all for their right to do that.

Of course many people have rallied around Elizabeth; supporters and oppositions alike. But there is ALWAYS ONE person/group (hint: Malay Movement Youth something whatchamacallit) who will always have this to say from their alleged high moral platform- that this is immoral, that it is wrong from a religious viewpoint, it is highly disgusting and she has to step down because it is unbecoming and unbefitting of a politician to be caught with his pants down (or panties missing- just fill in the blanks). [This I must say is the same group who want Rihanna banned from Malaysia because it is UNDENIABLE vthat the taxes she pays in America contributes to what has been used to fund the war in Gaza- the logic that these men/women have AMAZES ME!I LOVE IT!]

You know I hate dirty politics. But I especially hate it in THIS country because small things are made into big mountains when it comes to morals and religion. Being naked in your own time and taking pictures of yourself does not make one immoral or any less religious. I do not think the bible, the Koran or any other religious book said "thou shall not take naked pictures of yourself and distribute it on the internet".

Does it? I stand corrected. But until then, I spit on those who have said Elizabeth has been immoral.[Even NIK AZIZ WAVED IT AWAY- come on people. Can any of YOU be more religious that THIS man?]

Perak Tapau?

This whole Perak fiasco, can be summed up in two words. BN BOLEH.

Now, I have had my share of being bombarded with insults and "what type of governance do you subscribe to?" when I said that BN cannot be faulted for everything that happened in Perak. Well, the expression it takes two to tango makes a whole lot of sense to me.

This is how I see it, when Anwar Ibrahim indicated that BN MPs in Sabah were going to do an exodus of crossovers and PKR will then take over as federal government, PKR supporters waited with bated breath for that victory announcement. And when that Bota man crossover to PKR, everyone cheered "TAKE THAT BN!".

However, when the BOTA man and the other two PKR men who were promised their corruption charges were more likely than not be "solved" if they move over to BN, and that Jelapang DAP woman who said "RM20million? I was not offered that money!(but she never said anything about RM19.5 million perhaps but that is another story) DID quit PKR and pledged their allegiance to support BN, all PKR supporters had their panties/boxers and underwear in a big huge knotted bunch.
There were calls of a "revolution", and there was "we will send you BN people to hell in the next GE" and "BN plays dirty, shame shame".

Okay so lets back up a minute, isnt BN doing exactly what Anwar Ibrahim promised to do and applauded when it was done? So why is everybody bombarding me with all these hate messages when I said BN did not let us down and did nothing wrong-ER (I couldnt find a more appropriate word so I invented one) than what they have been doing all these while. Subscribing to dirty politics is a must in BN. So, they are just doing what they are used to. The issue here is PKR let us down. PKR could not keep its members in their party. PKR could not dangle a big enough carrot in front of those three members to keep them in and pledge their support for Nizar. I do not feel that BN has played any more dirty than they usually do. I only feel that PKR perhaps did not work hard enough to ensure their members stayed loyal and steadfast to the PKR manifesto and principles.

That is what I feel. It of course does not help PKR with that Karpal shooting off "Anwar should step down" messages to the media. I guess he has never heard of closing ranks or unity in times of adversity. He of course subscribes to "each man for himself!"

Yes, while I am perturbed by the fact that:-

1) the Kedah Umno Malay something (I forget) has called for the Sultan of Perak to ban Karpal from entering the state,
2)demonstrations by upset Malays outside of Karpal's office (and a threat to continue doing so if he does not withdraw the suit)
3) many angry emails that he should be "dealt with appropriately"
4) threats of "withdraw OR ELSE" (ooohhh...so scary!)

because Karpal has brought the Sultan to court for declaring that PKR were no longer in power and BN was, I Too feel like yelling "SHUT THE F UP KARPAL!"
After all, the whole PKR vehicle is seen to be crumbling, the last thing to do is to question Anwar's power and ability. If you NEED to do it, please do it internally.

But I digress.

So now the whole fiasco is no longer BN vs PKR, it has extended to MALAY vs NON-MALAY by the UMNO people.

Asking for "Malays to unite, whatever party they belong to,to fight against this disrespect to the Sultan" is ridiculous dont you think? I think so.

Right now, I applaud Nizar's determination to fight this to the end. I applaud his tenacity. In fact I applaud the whole PKR team for fighting for us Perak voters who put them there.

But I think in my friend M's words;-

Imagine if you were to win a 100m race, competing against 8 of the best sprinters in the world. You claim the gold. You were given the recognition as the best sprinter. Imagine how good it feels to taste that type of victory.

Much like how Rafael Nadal must have felt when he beat Federer for the Australian open. Must have felt pretty damn good to beat one of the best players in the history of tennis.

That type of victory is sweet.

The type of "victory" UMNO has been declaring? Sour and bitter and frankly, really really sad. Not the boohoo type of sad, but the Dude. How SAD ARE YOU? type of sad.

I am pretty sure Najib must have said that with the biggest grin his face could muster.

What type of victory is this? The three lawmakers deserted the party that actually gave them the pass to succeed in the General Election? And now they are supposedly "friendly" with the BN? What type of politician is that? No in fact, what type of human being is that?!

And there the BN is welcoming these sorry excuses for men and wearing their desertion of PKR as proudly as a victory badge?
Seriously, how very SAD is that?

Just as how you UMNO shoved aside the BOTA assembly man because he jumped ship possibly labeling him "disloyal" , here they are welcoming the very same species they have discredited into their own party.

Let us not talk about how these members have "lost faith in their party". These jumpers are not jumping due to the fact that they lost "faith in the party", its more along the lines of how much money they can get in each party. I bet down to the very last sen in my account that BN must have dangled a HUGE CARROT in front of these money minded frogs to leap over.
PKR and BN does not even have similar ideas of development or progress. They have different ides in running the country, spending the rakyat's money. Everything is different. The only similarity is probably that both parties claim to have the rakyat's welfare at heart.

So, how is it possible for a person from PKR to "lose faith in their party" and jump over to a party which does not even have similar ideals or ideas? HOW?

If I am pro choice, how do I suddenly jump over to being pro-life??

It just does not make sense to me.

Seriously. This leaping and jumping is causing the Perak people to tire. We are tired of all these bullshit. Now that the euphoria that is the General Election has died down, we see that BN UMNO MCA DAP GERAKAN PK are all the same shit made from the same shitty mould.

A friend sent me a sms today " Perak State Assembly dissolved".
I replied "SO?"
"Don't you care about the fact that PKR may lose power?"
"No. What difference does it make? While BN was in power, everything in Perak remained in status quo. Now that PKR is in power, its still status quo."

So what difference does it make to all of us? All I see is they are equally unethical and corrupted. Who joins a party, runs under their banner, wins a seat and then jumps party? What type of morally and ethically haywire person does that?

Sure, every once in awhile for show time purposes, some UMNOBN PKR people are charged for corruption cos they apparently were involved in "money politics", so while they publicly condemn these practices, they privately think "thank goodness for some loser went down for it!". Anyway I digress, what I mean is that while they think corruption is wrong cos it clearly is, nobody seems to think jumping parties is a SERIOUS OFFENCE.

You're cheating US the voters. US the one who chose YOU as a BN/PKR/DAP/PK member. Come on, what are the chances of us choosing you as an INDIVIDUAL to represent us. It is your party that you represent. Its ideals, its stand. Not your own! So if you jump, you're nothing but a piece of shit.Okay maybe that is too harsh. You're nothing but a piece of shit. Losing another one...

Two weeks ago, on 19th January 2008, at exactly 3.30pm I was told of my cousin's death in a car accident.
That would spell the second death in my extended family in a mere 6 months.
We were fuzzy on the details of the death but was told that he died on the spot of severe head and chest injuries.

To say that we were shocked and saddened is merely skimming the surface of the immense loss we suffered. Death is very permanent. Yes, that is stating the obvious but one does not really understand death until one finishes writhing around the pit of denial.And then it hits you. By then the grief is so insurmountable, it becomes impossible to actually understand why it happened.

Anyway, that is a post for a whole other blog content. This post is about people who make comments,not just any comment but stupid, insensitive, half a bird brain type of comments.

Now if you see a picture of an accident like this:-

WHY THE F would you make a comment such as :-

"Padan muka!Siapa suruh pandu laju laju?"

In the first place, how the heck would you know that he was driving fast? Were you there in the car? Were you at the scene of the accident when it happened? Who died and made you the speedometer that recorded the speed of the car?

"Ish. Mabuk ke dia?"

Okay, just because someone is involved in an accident it automatically means its because he is drunk?!

"Itulah, siapa suruh tak pakai tali keledar"

So now it is proven that wearing a safety belt will definitely keep one safe in an accident? Did you not read about the Singaporean car which crashed on the highway and all were killed except the baby who flew out of the window and survived the accident???? Every accident is different.

Now, all these comments that are posted on the internet are accessible to everybody. Does it not occur to you that perhaps just perhaps the victim's mother or wife and family may read it? Would it not hurt them to read these comments? How would you like it if one of YOUR family members were killed in an accident and I say " Oh he must have been drunk. Well, no loss there. Just another idiot who drove too fast!"

Sure, I am not immune to saying "UGH!These rempits really get to me!That is why so many of them die!!" but I would never ever THINK of passing a scene of an accident or looking at a picture of an accident and saying " Dude, he totally deserved to die."

W(ho)TF says that? WHO?!

I wait for the day that ehoza.com members who commented on the accident to lose somebody. Somebody they truly love. Their only son. Their husband or their father.

I will then gleefuly say " Padan muka"

But then again, I am not as heartless and stupid as the members there are. So maybe I will wait for the day one of them oh I dont know, maybe just lose a limb or two.

So in no particular order, I have decided to list them down :-

1) PAS youth wing leader wants Rihanna concert banned as it is an insult to Eastern culture.
Altogether now :WTF?

2) Some psycho Muslim accountant wants to sue the Penang State Government for putting up road signs in Chinese as he feels INSULTED by the use of a language which is not the official language of Malaysia.
WTF?

3) Government sends 10,000 policeman to "cover" the elections in Kuala Terengganu.
WTF? (Is there no crime to fight elsewhere?)

4) PAS and DAP fighting like small children in the media. PAS: Islamic State. DAP: No! PKR Prez: No no, misunderstanding. PAS did not say Islamic state. Besides, it wont apply to Non Muslims. Karpal Singh :WTF?
So we too say WTF?

5) We must boycott Coca Cola as a way to show our displeasure with America who is supporting Israel in the war in Gaza. So because Coca Cola is banned, I guess we just have to switch to Pepsi.
WTF?

6)Instead of helping to ease traffic jams along the congested roads in Bukit Bintang or Sultan Ismail, our road traffic police SWUNG INTO ACTION to issue summonses to those who do not wear their rear safety belts when the ruling came into effect.
WTF?

7) The fourth passenger in the car does not need to wear a safety belt. Apparently the ruling which is to make it safer for those in the car should they be in an accident, does not apply to the fourth passenger. He or she can die. Its ok.
WTF?

8)Anwar Ibrahim still talking about toppling the government by doing, nothing. But talk. And more talk.

We need help in Malaysia too!

Every year after the SPM or STPM results are out, one lucky lad will be featured in the front page of the papers as the hero who got 30As, or 6As or whatever amount of As that is considered straight As.

Then a few months down the road this same lad will be featured in the papers again under "Woe is me, I have no scholarship". And this lad will more likely than not be a Non- Muslim/Malay. And he will find that his peers with results which are not as spectacular as him would have gone on to further their education in prestigious universities or be offered fantastic scholarships to further their education.(and half the time, you dont even HAVE to return to Malaysia to work if say you are getting married and you want to wait for your spouse to finish HIS/HER education first before you come back, OR you can do a disappearing job and the authorities will not go after the guarantors because "they have moved"- what do you mean we can use the MYKAD to trace them? IMPOSSIBLE!They have vanished!VANISHED!)

I digress.

SO, every year, there will be a big brouhaha about why the government does not give scholarships to those who truly truly deserve it. So many of our talents move down South to Singapore where their intelligence and their talents will be recognised and appreciated. Many of us Malaysian have felt let down by the blatant discrimination shown by the Government when it comes to offering scholarships. Many of us have been looked over just because we were not of a certain race or creed.

You think that things cannot get ANY more unfair, then I read this today:-

BEIJING: Fifty scholarships will be given to Muslim students in China to further their studies in Malaysia.

MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat said the Al-Bukhary Foundation would be offering the scholarships annually.

The move was to help the poor students gain an education, he said during a lunch hosted by the China Islamic Association at the Muslim Tulufan Restaurant here yesterday.

Ong is leading a political and trade delegation to Beijing to mark 35 years of China-Malaysia diplomatic relations.

There are 22 million Muslims in China and Islam is one of the five major religions in the country.

“We hope the exchanges will help provide Malaysians an opportunity to know the Chinese Muslims,” Ong said.

Firstly, there are poor students HERE in MALAYSIA you sasquatch!
Secondly, why do Malaysians want to know about the Chinese Muslims? They are from China, they are Muslims! Why dont you just invite them to come over to Malaysia as tourists? I can learn about them when they are here as tourists too. For eg:-

HELL YEAH lets boycott Coca Cola!
And Maybelline, and Starbucks and everything that America has a hand in.

This way, America will know that Malaysia CONDEMNS the excessive aggressiveness of Israel in the Gaza strip. So far the death toll has gone up to 500. And in comparison, only 5 (okay maybe now around 10) Israeli's have died. The Horror! Why should there be such violence against the Palestinians when their initial incessant shelling of Israel only caused 5 people to die??! So what they sort of "started" it first? After all, in the words of my friend A "How would YOU like it if someone came into your living room and took posession of it?"

My simple answer? If my family had to die for it, I will gladly give up my living room.

SURE, we CONDEMN the war. The atrocities. The violence. But how many of us have sat down to think, now, why is Israeli retaliating as such? Is it because Hamas have been shelling them every damn day? And the rest of Palestine have plainly refused to recognise Israel? Just as the Palestinians have the right to live, so do the Israelis. Sure, the Israeli's were the unfortunate ones to be plucked out of obscurity and placed right smack in the middle of Islam central hence taking over land belonging to Palestine. How many have thought of how the Israeli's felt? If I were living in Israel I would wish every day that my country will one day LIFT itself and just go somewhere else with no opposition to the creation of that state.

Yes, I may sound biased, but at the end of the day, what I truly feel is that there is NO justification for the war. AND there is NO reason why both sides just cannot see eye to eye. Yes, this is the reality. Israel is there. Unless a big tsunami washes the whole of Israeli away (or my LIFT and go somewhere else theory comes to fruition), it is not going to disappear one day. So, would it not make more sense to just accept the inevitable and then move on from there?

Instead of all these fighting?

And by countries taking SIDES, it just FUELS the war. Malaysia can condemn the WAR, not Israel. Malaysia should condemn the VIOLENCE. NOT Israel. Because why do we support Palestine just because they are an Islamic country? What if it were the other way round? Would we condemn Palestine? Did we do anything to boycott anything Islamic during September 11? Or did many of us secretly thought HAHA, its about time that US feels the wrath of the Muslim world?

I do not agree to the stand that Malaysia has taken. We are supposed to be Non Aligned. And by that it means we DO NOT take sides. And by boycotting America because they are supporting Israel, we are taking sides. Both countries have been aggressors. And they both have to stop. Now its a game of lets see who has more support. And this will never end if we jump into the fray.

CONDEMN THE WAR.

It is NOT always the local authorities who are SOLELY to be blamed. And it is not also the developers who are to blame. Ever heard of if there is DEMAND, there is SUPPLY?
Let us just say, I as a developer, I have this MEGA project at the hillside. I have luxury condo units and I have big ass swimming pools, and all that jazz. Now all these I made it rich and I have to flaunt my money Malaysians will FLOCK to these developments to buy it. So I make big bucks and I think gee, Malaysians LOVE this whole hillside luxury living concept. I think I ought to go look for another one.

So the Highland Towers taught the developers nothing. Even the buyers learnt nothing. You would think us Malaysians will think, we should BOYCOTT these developments. Let us NOT buy into the whole idea. The developers should stop it. And if we do not buy any units, the whole development will go bust and then eventually they will learn that there is no demand. But NO, Malaysians continue FLOCKING to these developments. Buying and buying and buying. So with demand going up, there ought to be supply right? If I were a developer and a businessman, I see the opportunity, I seize it!

So knee jerk reaction. Let us SUE the developers and the local authorities for allowing these developments. They are to blame. They caused the landslides from bad monitoring. They did not do the irrigation well enough. Now my mother/sister/brother/relative is dead and gone. But what have I done to stop these developments? I bought a unit there because it was BIG and Beautiful. I have money, I want a big house! What have I done to curb the demand? nothing. But why should I blame myself as well?Its easier to point a finger at someone else.

Am I being a mean bitch here? Yes I am. But I just think pushing the blame game has to stop. EVERYONE is to be blamed. It is like saying let us stop polluting the environment. Every damn advocate(or 98% of them) of "cleaner environment" campaign drives a car. Hybrid or not. It still emits pollutants right? Whether at 10% or 80%, it STILL Does.So you are STILL polluting the damn environment. Why dont you cycle everwhere? Why do you have air con units in your home? Why do you have electricity? Why dont you switch to solar power? All these contribute to environmental pollution.

So yes, I am being mean here, but I think I just have to say it.

After all, this is MY blog and I have every damn right to.

Many donkey years ago, I attended a forum in which Datuk Zaid Ibrahim was the main Speaker for the night. I can no longer recall the topic of discussion but two things Zaid ibrahim said made an impression on me that night.

First: My results were bad but just because I was Malay, I got a scholarship.
Second: I am in UMNO because I believe I can make changes from within.

So in recent months, Zaid has stuck to these two things that he said that night. He questioned the "Ketuanan Melayu" and eventhough he quit his post as Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, he remained faithful to UMNO. I mean, how many of us thought to ourselves, Dude, what are you still doing in UMNO? It has turned it back on you!

But now, the heavens are shining on Datuk Zaid. He has been sacked by UMNO. I think it is the best news ever! But before that, let us examine the reason why he has been sacked. Mainly because he has been attending events held by the Opposition. Victory parties, rallies, what not. AND he sat next to the party leaders. (The HORROR!He should have sat at the back, with his face covered) So he got a show cause letter and then finally the PM just said, you're OUT! And no you cannot appeal the decision because it is against the Party Ethics to be SEEN at Opposition events. And UMNO cannot be seen to be practising double standards. We can practise double standards when we act in Government. UMNO members can utter whatever they want in Parliament. But if the Opposition does, we suspend them! UMNO members can build UMNO posts and huts anywhere we want, but if Opposition members try to stop a building from being demolished, we charge them in court! Those type of double standards are NECESSARY in the name of political stability. And well, the fact that you know, since MCA, MIC and Gerakan is stupid enough to stick with us, we are all mighty in terms of numbers.
Take that PAKATAN!

Who cares what he was doing there? Who cares it is actually a good thing for Politicians from different parties to set aside their differences, or even EMBRACE their differences for the sake of political stability? Who cares? UMNO does not. It is all about EGO and SUPREMACY. How can Zaid embarass the party that way? How can be so unethical? This country runs on a few simple basic rules :

UMNO is supreme.

Oh I'm sorry, that is only ONE rule.
And this rule applies across the board. Whether you like it or not.

So I go back to my earlier point about this being the best news I have come across today. Zaid is sacked from UMNO. So now this man, whom I believe has GREAT ETHICS and has a conscience and a functioning brain, will now be free to do the things that he has and had always wanted to. He wanted to make changes from within but all are opposed to change and so if he HAS to make changes from a different party or from a different angle, that is what he has to do. And now, that is what he CAN do without his arms and legs being bound by UMNO's RED TAPE OF ETHICS AND RULES.

I applaud the PM's move.
Datuk Zaid, you make us, okay, I cannot speak for others, but you make ME proud.

Damn. Yoga is no longer in.

Apparently all these while those who were practising it were in danger of "deviating from Islam". Because those who were busy contorting their bodies into different positions in fitness centres around the country were in theory, opening themselves up to Hindu religious teaching. It is preposterous to think that they do it specifically for fitness purposes! LIES!

The National Fatwa Council in their IN DEPTH discussions and research have found that yoga can be traced back to India and is taught for purely RELIGIOUS reasons. So saying "OMMMMMMM" is so going to put you on the DV8 From Islam express bus. Definite No, No.

What do you mean we are so insecure about our own religion that we feel a purely exercise thing will cause our Muslims to deviate from Islam? This comes from research! IN DEPTH research AND discussions! What do you mean none of us practise yoga or know what it consist of? We read up on the history of it! What do you mean we have to find out why people are doing yoga? We traced it back to Hinduism! What do you mean we did not ask those who practise yoga? WE decide. SOMEONE died and made US KING. That is all there is to it!
Just as you cannot wish your fellow Hindus Happy Deepavali, you sure as hell cannot practise yoga!

And who cares if there is a recession? Who cares if there are children whose fathers have refused to pay for their maintenance under Syariah? Who cares if there is still poverty? What do you mean Ayah Pin is still on the loose? Those are not important things! That CANNOT cause Muslims to deviate from the teachings of Islam. Yoga is a dangerous imminent threat. We must advise our fellow Muslims that just because you have to sacrfice your livelihood in the name of upholding Islam it is never a bad thing. So you are out of job. So what? You will still go to heaven right?

That is all that matters.

FOREIGNERS NEED NOT APPLY

The whole country (well almost anyway) applauded when Obama was announced as the next President of the USA. Many hailed his success as a big step for the blacks. Even though he never ran his campaign along racial lines, many saw his victory as one for the black community. All post election talk, interviews and whatnots were drenched with "how has this affected the black community?"

Anyway, I digress. So we all hailed the man who was the underdog BLACK man who was up against the war veteran WHITE man. A victory indeed. In fact the PM goes on to say, as mentioned in my previous entry, that ANYBODY CAN BE PM.

So what is the point of today's ranting? The fact that we can recognise and applaud the racial barrier being broken in a far off country of the USA. But in this country we cannot seem to understand the need for such barrier to be taken down. In fact its not uncommon for many of us to subject others to our racial profiling. I myself am guilty of it. If I were to enter a toilet cubicle which is soaking wet, I would think "sure a Malay used it-la" or if I hear of a woman who makes complains about a school not teaching her child well enough "CHINESE RIGHT?", and you get my drift.

But then even I was not prepared for what met my eyes this morning in the Star paper. "Apartment residents in distress" and why so? Because, get this :-

MOST OF THE UNITES ARE OCCUPIED BY FOREIGNERS

So these residents of a block of apartments in Shah Alam have aired their dissatisfaction with the number of foreigners living in their area. According to them they spoil the lifts, they throw rubbish indiscriminately and they scare the resident's children so much that they have refused to play at the playground near the apartments.

Ok, I live in an apartment which has a miniscule number of foreigners and yet I suffer from scribblings on the lifts, and out of 10 drawings, 9 will be one which involves genitalia and will definitely have obscene words which will start with a F and end with a K. And rubbish is thrown out of the apartment balconies too. Malaysians are just not very civic minded people.We have to admit that. We push to get into LRTs and buses,we talk loudly on the mobile when we are in the cinema and we let our children pee in the sink in the loo.

As for ruining facilities in the apartment, it happens everywhere. It is tough not to walk into an apartment block and not see drawings of genitalia in the lift. And rubbish overflowing from the bins because the resident was just too lazy to walk a few more steps to the rubbish dumping area. Was it the job of a foreigner? Or just us Malaysians? It is a very Malaysian thing to be with the "boh chap" (do not care) attitude. AS long as MY home is clean, who cares about yours? So these problems persist everywhere we go.

However for the residents in Shah Alam to be IN DISTRESS that their apartments are swarmed with foreigners which are making the area of their homes a "concrete slum" is definitely uncalled for. Sure its one thing to assume the increase of say crime in an area is due to the foreigners ( ooops, here I go profiling again- but statistics have proven me right!) but its quite another to assume that the foreigners will ruin the very place that they live in. Especially when us Malaysians are guilty of doing the same things!(Yes we are also guilty of being criminals too..but that is a different story altogether.)

And the other question which begs to be answered is, what do the residents suggest? That all foreigners be shipped into an area which they can then live together in their slum and dirt and spoil whatever facilities there are available there? How about putting up signs ala America in some states in those "dark years" - "NO blacks or animals"?
So there should be a sign outside apartments now "NO BANGLADESHI, NO PAKISTANI, NO INDONESIAN,NO VIETNAMESE, NO BURMESE, NO THAI" "ONLY MALAYSIAN".

Yes, my thoughts are everywhere today, but at the end of the day, I am just annoyed to read this. Annoyed to know that we Malaysians can actually think of ourselves so superior to our neighbours that we have do not want to live with them. Such a shame indeed that we see are quick to judge others, but fail to see our own faults.

Let us all be truthful here. BN wins, UMNO president becomes PM. After all the leader of the largest party will always be the candidate for PM. And with shoe polishers in the form of MCA and MIC, BN will forever remain "united" and UMNO will forever be "reigning party" in Malaysia. If you look at the recent election, a LOT of us DID NOT want the current PM to be PM. And even people within UMNO asked him to step down. YET, he still remained PM and the next PM may not be our choice either. So who is he kidding when he said it depends on the people? The people denied BN a 2/3 majority. The people do not agree to the current PM. The people ( and a heck load of them) voted against BN.

Let us not get our hopes up when the soon to retire PM says this to garner favour among the "people". He has said quite a load of things ever since he came into power. Such as there shall be no increase of the cost of petrol. Or I am not stepping down anytime soon. And other whatchamacallits. So, take this with a pinch of salt and a whole dose of laughter.

Still, funny stuff this "It depends on the people" statement.

I have been missing for quite some time now for a number of reasons.

One being that after my aunt's death in August, I have learnt to stop and smell the roses- and if I were to be stung by a bee while I am at it, I should laugh and remind myself that at least I still have my sense of smell.(you know, one of those, you are lucky to be alive things?)

Two- I have been busy.Well not so busy that I do not have time to read the newspapers and detect the absurdity in the political scene, but busy enough not to be able to sit down and articulate my thoughts.

Three- the most important reason of all- it being that the Malaysian politics is such a snooze fest nowadays.

September 16 came and went. Then October 16th also came and whooshed by. Many of us were waiting in anticipation for a change of government (who cares if academicians say that MPs crossing over will not change the Government, we want DRAMA man, DRAMA!)Then now we sit down and twiddle our fingers waiting for Anwar to give us more (false) hope.Maybe its November, wait no, December? How about January?
"It is not about the date, just remember that it will happen..." *yawn*

Shah Rukh Khan got awarded Datuk-ship. Erm, like SO? Datuk Michelle Yeoh's ug, I mean erm..aesthetic challenged boyfriend also got one didnt he?And what did he do? I think he bought a piece of land in Terengganu. Or was it Langkawi? Who cares?

The whole point is that these Datuk-ships mumbo jumbo are a total waste of time. Lee Chong Wei is a Datuk, Nicole David is a Datuk and the next thing you know, the uncle selling chee cheong fun down the roadside shop is also a Datuk. So I dont see the whole brouhaha over it. In all seriousness, if the artistes in Malaysia are offended that they did not get it, then all they have to do is, acquire some talent and actually use it. Not just sit there and produce Cicakman, or Senario, or other crap movies or take part in Akademi Fantasia and hope to be famous for being well, nothing. (For crying out loud, we have MAWI MANIA- how sad is that?)

Karpal Singh got suspended from Parliament for two days because he is all sensitive now that he is in a wheelchair and automatically is part of the disabled communitys' representative for all things right and fair *thumps chest*.

What was the issue? The fact that Nazri said to Wee Choo Keong "If you do not see the reason why the government sponsored the Bar Council's dinner then you must be blind" to which Karpal demanded an apology for making a sensitive remark about the disabled. And Pandikar Amin did not want to make a ruling on it and bla bla bla, Karpal got suspended. I would think that this did not warrant such a strong reaction and now he has to sit out the debate over the Budget 2009 just because he was all sensitive about something which can only be said to be making a mountain out of a molehill. But Karpal insists he is right. You know, sometimes one can be blind (score!) to their irrational outbursts.

So you see, even in my roundup of what I think are some of the more interesting happenings in Malaysia, it is still yawn worthy. So, here is hoping more interesting things crop up.

For now, I think I shall go lie down for a while. All the changes in the road names in Bukit Bintang is giving me a headache.

Logic always ranks second

One would think that if there is a threat of BN MPs in Sabah doing a crossover and the possiblity of Anwar Ibrahim taking over and becoming the new PM, Badawi would tell his Cabinet that arresting Raja Petra, Theresa Kok and the Sin Chew journalist is probably not such a good idea in terms of gaining popularity among the people.

But Uh-uh, this being Malaysia and it being the Malaysian Government,logic always ranks second to stupidity, so they arrest those people under ISA and detain the journalist for one day "for her own safety" and then leave the other two still in detention in undisclosed locations. (And according to Theresa Kok's father, she is brought from one one place to another with a hood over her head- what is this? the Mafia?)
Now, what are the reasons for Petra being arrested? Well, there is a host of them, which I will not go into but what I do want to evaluate is the arrest of Theresa Kok.

It has been alleged that she had joined in a petition for the Azar calls from the mosque to be reduced as it was thought too loud by the residents in Puchong and Kota Damansara. She had vehemently denied this accusation by ex-MB-I-am-so-bitter Khir Toyo. In fact the Mosque authorities in the two constituencies have denied her involvement and have confirmed that she has never said anything to that effect. But you see, according to the Home Minister Syed Albar, she has been detained under ISA because she has threaten to cause racial tensions by "making comments about the Azar."

Now, I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but if the mosque authorities have confirmed she did not take part in it, and she herself has said she was not part of it, then it would make sense that they should investigate the matter just a tiny wee bit more to determine the authenticity of ex-MB's claim before they chuck her in the police car and whisk her away to obscurity. And if the investigations reveal that ex-MB made up those words, by all means, whisk HIM away under the ISA. (But apparently if you are an UMNO member, you can say what you want. You can wave keris-es and yell for blood, you can call the Chinese immigrants, you can call Indians kelings, you can threaten to hurt others- its okay. Because only those who report your remarks are the ones who get detained under ISA for "false reporting" or those who did not actually SAY those words but were accused wrongfully of doing so who get arrested).

Now technically, if one were to deduce the Ahmad situation and the Chinese "immigrant" remarks, it would make sense to think that if the DPM apologised on behalf of BN and the UMNO suspended him for 3 years, it means that, he actually DID say those words right? Logically speaking. So if indeed he DID utter it, then why is there FALSE REPORTING by Sin Chew? And why was the journalist detained and why is Sin Chew being issued show cause letters? Show cause of what?

But us being logical beings, unlike the Government, we will never understand what the rationale is behind the actions of the Government. So, perhaps we will have to carry these question marks to our graves. Because the Government is not about to start admitting their failures and accepting the logic of others. No-uh, not in this lifetime. Because anything that MAKES sense but is not in line with the Government stand is always a "perversion of the truth".

Now, I am not much of a criminologist but I think, if I intend to kill somebody, or watch somebody's body be blown to tiny little fragments, I would probably, possibly, just maybe, decide to choose a spot that nobody frequents. I mean, that is me-la. Because I am "orang biasa" and not special like DPM's wife. So if you were Rosmah (or whatever her name is) and you decide to kill somebody, it is only logical that you choose a place which a lot of people frequent, say like TTDI, or maybe Taman Tasik Titiwangsa and then while you are (ALLEGEDLY) watching the Mongolian woman being blown to pieces, you can only hope nobody walking nearby can or will 1) hear 2) see or 3) care what is going on in there.
(And it does not matter that being Malaysian, a motorcycle parked at the side of the highway piques everyone's interest enough to cause a massive jam from slowing down just to see what is happening)

I am always, always amazed at the things that come out of the mouths of politicians. They say racists things, they call Indian "kelings" in Parliament, they call Chinese "immigrants" and because they are immigrants it is "impossible for them to be afforded equal rights". And that Malaysia Today's website was not banned, but merely "blocked". But the one that takes the cake are the words that come out of our beloved PM's mouth when asked to comment on racists things said by his fellow party followers. It is always "I am sure he did not mean it that way" and that "we may have misunderstood him".
Oh, then there is the senior politician's "it was reported in the Chinese papers and I do not read Chinese so I do not know whether he actually said what he said." AND if there have been abuse of powers or alleged corruption reported, it is "we will investigate and ask them to explain themselves...but after Raya." [I suppose because the truth will only reveal itself after Raya]

Then there is the thought process that they go through. Such as just because someone swore on the Quran, it automatically means that that person is telling the truth. And that all other people are not to comment on it because you know, "people should not distort the truth".Even though investigations have not completed and the truth is not known yet. But the Government's version of the truth is always the right and logical one. So, if its not in line with the Government version, then its more often that not, NOT the truth but a pack of lies.

Gosh, I love the fact that Anwar Ibrahim won Permatang Pauh. It means that the Government has miraculously found some monies hidden under some persons' bed which can be taken out to subsidise fuel again!First they had enough to reduce petrol price to RM2.55. And now they say maybe after Raya, they may find MORE monies stashed somewhere to further reduce the price!

death came a knocking...I was not prepared

Death is inevitable.

But the grief that accompanies it is so overwhelming and unexpected, its frightening.

Today I do not write about the wrongs of the country or the world, the stupidity of politicians and our elected representatives, the impending battle at Permatang Pauh, or the loss of the Olympic Badminton gold.

On Thursday morning, my blackberry died on me. Again. So I whined and I griped about it. And then I received news about my aunt's death and suddenly everything seemed unimportant. Suddenly all my troubles seem miniscule.

Today, I mourn and grieve the loss of a wonderful woman. A mentor, an aunt, and above all a great human being.

Today I am reminded that sometimes, life is much too short to be concentrating on the things that should not affect us, yet we allow them to.

I am reminded that we should choose to be happy. Always.

I am reminded that just by choosing to see the best in everybody, my aunt was such a joy to be around with. She never criticised, she never judged. She accepted and she embraced us as we all are.

Sometimes, it takes a death to remind us of the things in life that cannot be seen but felt. Joy, Love and Sorrow.

The intention of the Bar Council in holding the forum on "Conversion to Islam: Article 121(1a) of the Federal Constitution: Subashini and Shamala Revisited"?

Possibly to allow the public to share their views on the issue of conversion and the multiple problems they face when one's family is kept in the dark on the conversion and etc etc.

This of course is seen by many as a good move by the Bar to allow the public to express their opinions on the matter and to allow some of them to vent and rave about the possible "injustice" and "unfairness" that ensues from the conversion.

But really, sometimes the best intentions do not make things right.

Sure, the intention to hold a public forum to allow these type of discussions despite the protest by various sector, may be a good one.But does it make things right?

While I myself am surprised at the violent and overwhelmingly strong reaction to the holding of the forum, I can understand why.

Let us put ourselves in the position of a Muslim man or woman, say, we are Christian,how would you like it if people of different races and religion sit in a gallery, raving and ranting about the weakness and drawbacks of being Christian? Or that Jesus is not the Saviour? Or that Catholicism sucks because if one is not baptised, he or she will not have be able to have the funeral mass in the main church but only in the chapel? (I stand corrected but that was how Canny Ong was not allowed into the main church building because she was not baptised). Would you not be pissed? It is MY religion. I sure do not like people talking s*** about it. Especially when they do not know anything about it but are there to merely criticise.

Some of the members of the forum shared their stories on how they converted only to have their spouses abandon them after 10 years and how they are now "stuck" in Islam and cannot convert out of the religion.

Seriously. When you fall in love and marry a Muslim, you have a choice. Convert or not. If you have made the choice to convert, knowing full well the issues of not being able to leave the religion, then you cannot fault the system of being unfair. You choose to love the man and embrace his religion.

Yes, of course the biggest issue here now is why a person cannot leave the religion after they have converted into it.
That is for our representatives to sit and discuss the viability and rationality of the situation. For the Government together with the representatives from different races and religions to sit down and discuss the possibility of amending the law or perhaps amending the steps for conversion and to ensure all are aware of the "consequences" of embracing the religion either through marriage or something else.

Those type of forums, I agree to it.At least something useful will come out of it. But a forum for the public to basically express their dissatisfaction? I think not. After all, why insist on going on with it even though you know so many people oppose it? Does it not incite unnecessary conflict among the races?

After all, all the bridges that you burn now, will one day come back and haunt you.

Somethings are just not worth it.

When can I say I am proud to be Malaysian?

Last saturday, my mother received the worst possible news at 3pm. Her Korean student who had gone to Kuala Lumpur for a week long English course was found murdered, alongside an Indonesian maid, in a bungalow in Ukay Heights. There were no signs of break in and nothing was stolen. We scratched our heads wondering why anyone would want to kill a shy, timid 17 year old boy and an Indonesian maid in the wee hours of the morning.While CSI on TV might have the tagline that the "dead has spoken" through their high tech gadgetry and DNA profiling, here in Malaysia, we only have "the dead man tells no tales".

Two days prior to the news of the murder, my mother was informed of her students being mugged and robbed of their belongings in KLIA. Yes, the Kuala Lumpur- maybe-one-day-all-airports-will-be-like-this-one-international Airport. I shudder to think that one day all airports will see us travellers being mugged and robbed. Those type of airports, I can really do without.

And just before we heard that story, a friend told me that his house in Wangsa Maju was broken into in broad daylight. They ransacked the house and basically robbed them off everything of value.

Crime is so rampant nowadays, most of us have personally encountered or suffered one ourselves. If you throw a stone you're bound to hit someone who has had her handbag snatched, or have his house broken into.

And so we ask, what the hell is the police doing? And where the hell are they?

Apparently busy holding stupid roadblocks. And dressing up in balaclavas and arresting Anwar Ibrahim. Sending 9000 policemen to hold roadblocks all over the city which they termed "in order to maintain safety" because there was a rumour of a protest in front of the Parliament by Keadilan/PKR members?

While the rest of us are living in perpetual fear of being robbed/maimed/murdered when we walk the streets of Malaysia, the powers to be are busy squabbling over Anwar Ibrahim, merging of UMNO and PAS, Mercedes Benzs and Proton Perdanas, issuing statements asking Condoleeza Rice to mind her own business, disagreeing about Penang being an UNESCO Heritage Site and yelling at each other in Parliament.

Oh, how I wish I could one day say I am proud to be Malaysian and actually mean it.

How do talks which are centered around Islam and Malay unity(Malays of different political views)lead to stability which will lead to people being able to improve their lives?

Would it not make more sense for the PM to have talks with all political parties to decide how this political degradation can be resolved? Lim Kim Siang is right to ask "Why Malay unity and not Malaysian unity?"

Why indeed?

Since when did it become the primary focus of the PM to shelf us into Malay and Non-Malay? What happened to the PM for all Malaysians? What really happened during these discussions?

If we sit down and think about it, what IS there to discuss about Islam and political differences? You are either a Muslim or you are not. Is there a demarcation between an UMNO Muslim and a PAS Muslim? It is akin to saying there is a difference between a Christian MCA member and a Christian DAP member. Or a Hindu MIC member and a Hindu Keadilan member. Yes, I know religion has been politicised, but theoretically speaking, both UMNO and PAS are championing Malay rights. So what discussion are we talking about when one says its about unity and stability?

If you ask me this is what I understand from this discussion: Look, we only care about the Malay people and how it is fragmented inside UMNO now and how PAS should be reeled in to join UMNO instead of sticking with PKR so that we can dominate the country and get rid of the irrelevant other Non-Malays (and Anwar Ibrahim who is technically Muslim but you know, is now considered lain-lain with the rest of us Non Malays).

If indeed the PM was truly interested in bringing about unity, he should stop thinking in terms of Malay and Non-Malay. Unity affects us as a WHOLE. It affects us as Malaysians. Not as Malays, Chinese, Indian and so on. It should not be a "if I solved this part of the problem, the indirect outcome is that the rest of you benefit." Since when did us Non Malays get lump together as an indirect outcome or consequence?

This ignorance which is masked behind so called necessity for the country's stability and improvement of lives is so shameful. And what makes it even more shameful is the fact that our PM is not even aware of it. And shame turns into sheer fright when we discover that the PM might just never ever be aware of it.

Okay, backtrack.

A month (or two) ago, was this not the same man who was whining about rising costs of sourcing for fuel? And that the Government was right in doing what they did?

And didn't the government say they cannot AFFORD to subsidise petrol because its eating into its funds? And that if they continue with the subsidy eventually it will go bankrupt? Or whatever bullshit crap they fed us?

So, what is with this RM62 billion given to the government's coffer?

WTF??

There we were being told it was necessary, that it was inevitable, rising prices of crude oil, it is natural for prices to soar, its a must, DEAL WITH IT.

Then they tell us actually well, Petronas is doing pretty f**king-fantastic? And can afford to give so much because they don't need so much to invest in the future? I may not be the sharpest tool in the shade, but even I can see that something is rotten here.

So the question now is, what is the Government going to spend the RM62 billion on? Obviously is not to upgrade the current public transport system because it is still in the "planning" stage. You know the compulsory three stages of all these so called grand plans.

First: Lay out grand plans in all major newspaper with graphics and illustrations so everyone goes "OOOHHH AHHHHHH" and include big ass launch of grand plan to introduce it to the people.

Second: Delay. Delay. Delay. Delay. Give lack of resources as reason for delay. Delay some more. Pray hard everyone forgets about Grand Plan.

Third: Scrap plan because there is not enough money to execute grand plan. Money found to have been used to pay consultant to set out the illustration and to draw graphics and another consultant to plan the big ass launch in First Stage.

Then it goes back to the starting point where its "the rakyat must understand why we cannot afford to subsidize these things. We do not have enough money which is urgently needed for more important national interests things!"

Repeat stage 1 to 3 again.

So at the end of it all, we have all been taken for a ride.

After all, there are three types of lies, just like the three stages of grand plans.

The state of the country's politics have reached a stomach churning, bitter taste in the mouth, sickening state.

There is the alleged "intimidation" of the ex-DPM, there is the opposition MPs staging a walkout from the Parliament after its motion of no confidence was rejected, then there is the lewd gesture by oh-so-famous Bung Mokhtar, the incessant yelling in the Parliament...and well, the list goes on.

I for one am sick and tired of these mud slinging tactics and constant primary school kids type of bickering. I was of course reminded by my friend J over dinner the other day.

J: See? Opposition voter!See what you have done!
Me: What?
J: See how everything is going to the dogs? The economy is suffering! While I agree that there should be change, we are not ready for it!
Me: What do you mean by we are not ready?
J: The economy is crashing!The whole world is suffering!
Me: So when will we be ready?
J: Not now.

You see the thing about the so called non opposition voters is the fact that they like to BLAME the opposition(and its voters) for everything that goes wrong. The current state of affairs does not come into being unilaterally. The PM did not perform, people get upset and ask for change. The current administration was waist deep in corruption, the people are furious and yearn for change. The DPM allegedly blew some Mongolian up, bloggers get upset and blog about it, and people are informed and they too get upset and demand for justice and the truth. The Government throws everybody they have no concrete evidence to charge in court,into prison under the ISA, people question the validity and demand for change. The Government classify every document which is suspicious under the OSA, people demand for transparency.

Makes sense doesn't it? It is clearly a Rep Ipsa Loquitor situation. "The thing speaks for itself."

As much as BN supporters would LOVE to pin the whole sickening state of politics on the Opposition and its voters alone, the truth is that there was already something rotten in the state of Malaysia and this is something that is inevitable, and maybe just maybe, necessary before we can move forward.

Of course, whether the current situation is the best way to move forward, we have yet to conclude on that. Can the opposition do a better job? Definitely. Can they be more productive instead of just pointing out the problems, but offer no solution? Yes. Can they give us a concrete alternative instead of just words? We truly hope so.

And can the Government eventually accept its mistakes instead of denying they exist? Hopefully. Can the current administration hear the voices of the people and act according to their interests? We can only pray they do.

I do not deny there is a urgent need of improvement on both sides. But until the BN supporters open up their ears and their eyes to the many wrongs of the current administration, they will continue blaming the Opposition for the sad state of affairs. And until the Opposition voters start using their heads and start thinking of great alternative ideas to EFFECT change instead of just ASKING for it, we will just be a bunch of empty, noisy vessels.

I think we should call it a truce. And try to work together. I think that is the only way forward. (All these political bickering are starting to harm animals.Lim Guan Eng's dog is suspected to have been poisoned. Like come on people. No animals should be harmed in the making of this sad political state of affairs.)

I do not care about where Bala is. In Asean? Not in Asean? Stashed away by the police? Went into hiding by himself? Who cares?

I do not care whether his first Statutory Declaration is the truth or whether the second one is. He told his nephew the first one was true? He told his popped out of nowhere lawyer the first one was done under duress? Who cares?

I do not care whether the Mongolian was murdered by the DPM or not. Did he introduce her to the political analyst in Paris? Who cares?

I do not care whether the DPM's wife was there to watch the Mongolian being blown to pieces. Why is she not suing for defamation if it is not true? Who cares?

I do not care whether ex-DPM jailed for corruption and sodomy did or did not fabricate his black eye report. Who was there and witnessed it? Who cares?

I do not care whether the above mentioned ex-DPM does or does not want to swear on the Quran or whether the ex-DPM's student leader I-was-sodomised accuser wants to swear on the Quran or challenges the ex-DPM to swear on the Quran. Does the Quran automatically make one speak the truth? Who cares?

I do not care whether the Americans are meddling in our internal affairs or not. What right do they have to say they will not tolerate any political conspiracy against the ex-DPM? Who cares?

I do not care whether the ex-PM held a boot camp for judges when he was still PM. Why did the judge only speak of it now and not then? Who cares?

I do not care whether the MIC dude who left MIC will only rejoin MIC when that man who never leaves the President seat finally leaves. Who cares?

I really do not care.
If the truth(or whatever version of it) is revealed, I do not mind knowing it.
But I do not care about it.
Some of you may, but what is the use of caring?

What I DO care is this:-

How the PM is going to stop the fuel increase to ease the burden on the rakyat?
When is the Parliament going to start being a place where great minds meet and not where fools gather?
When will the rakyat finally see the fruits of BN's labour which actually benefits each and everyone of us?
When will Malaysia cease to be a developing country and be a developed one?

When will what we want actually matter? When will the government listen to us?

What we always have are questions, but what we will never attain are truthful satisfactory answers.

Sodomy is SO yesterday

Now, this quote came to mind when I read about the sodomy fiasco that is Anwar Ibrahim and Saiful.

Firstly, this whole fiasco is termed a "job" because whispers are heard saying that this is another conspiracy to bring Anwar Ibrahim down. After all, Mr. PM never expected the man he released after winning the 2004 General Election as a means of appeasing pro PKR voters and showing the rest of the citizens that he is a "fair and kind" man, would somehow be his worst feared adversary in 2008. While the PM must be whacking himself on his head saying "STUPID STUPID STUPID!", Anwar is once again made to defend himself and his sexuality.

Now, I for one do NOT care about Anwar's sexuality. Whether he likes it from the front or from behind, does not matter to me because the only direction I want to know about is his direction for the country. Where we are headed and where he thinks we should be heading and how the hell we are going to get there.

I do not care if he has his own guilty pleasures in the confines of his own home (or whatever high class condominium in Damansara Heights) just as I did not and still do not care about Chua Soi Lek's visits to the Johore hotel for his romp in between the sheets.

Many of us lament that this is a lame attempt by the Government and the fact that there are pictures of this Saiful-I-was-sodomised-woe-is-me taking pictures with BN Ministers JUST before he decided to join as a volunteer for PKR, makes us stop in our tracks and for a second think, "Hmmmm....mere coincidence or a well thought and planned conspiracy?"

After all, logically, IF Anwar Ibrahim is gay and he wanted to have sex with another man, why would he choose ANYBODY who works for him? I mean, the gay community in Malaysia is not a minority as many of us think. It is quite substantial and I am SURE many of them would willingly be Anwar's fellow romp mate if he needed one and would definitely not be making police reports against him. In fact they might boast "Do you know WHO I was with yesterday!? ANWAR IBRAHIM!WOOHOO!SCORE!"(okay perhaps less theatrics, but you know what I mean)

So where IS the logic? I for one will think Anwar has more brains and sense than the Government does. I for one think that the man has a little more integrity than a lot of other politicians with their holier than thou attitude and I for one expect these type of conspiracies to die with the old administration.

So the questions remain. Did he or did he not? Is he or is he not?

I can smell the disaster that is coming our way.

Let us hope we are all ready for the consequences.

If you ever had any suspicion that the ex-MB who is now in the Opposition in Selangor is NOT man for all races let me confirm that suspicion for you today.

Q & A with Khir Toyo today in the NST:-

"Q: Why did you enter politics?
A: I wanted to help the Malays.(followed by bla bla bla, irrelevant things)

Q: What do you do in your free time?
A: Thinking and reading. I do a lot of thinking to understand what is going to happen to the Malays, and the country and the situation is an uncertainty now. I spend two to three hours a day thinking..."

Now, I for one, am a person who finds it impossible to only spend two to three hours thinking. In fact, every minute of the day, I am thinking. When I say something, I think. Right before I say something, I think. While I am working, obviously, I have to think. So how DOES the ex- MB do it? Only two to three hours in a day that he ACTUALLY THINKS. The rest of it, well, he spends..erm, not thinking. Ahhh.. the high requirements one needs to comply with in order to be a politician. I am envious.

Anyway, moving along. Now, this interview in the NST was a real eye opener. I mean we always had our suspicion that the Ex-MB was never a man for the rakyat. After all there were/are allegations of corruption and mismanagement of funds which saw only a minority of the people profiting.

How can a man who was the Menteri Besar of Selangor, announce to Malaysia that he joined politics to help the Malays and all he thinks about (in the two-three of his thinking hours in a day) is how to help the Malays (and oh yeah, the country comes second to the Malays)? The last I checked, Selangor has other races living in it too. Like oh, I dont know, Chinese, Indians, Sikhs...? Should he not be thinking about the people who live in Selangor regardless of their race? Should it not be "I am thinking of how to help the people in Selangor, or I am thinking about how to improve the situation in Selangor?" Apparently not. Apparently, it is all about the Malays and UMNO.

So what is this man who was once suppose to look out for Selangor people saying? That he truly does not care about non-Malays? That all he cares about from the first day he joined politics (after witnessing how handsome Mahathir was apparently) was all for the Malays?

When asked why BN lost in Selangor, he says" I dont want to blame people but basically the Chinese and Indian voters did not vote for BN"

Gee, we wonder why.

SOLAR POWER BRA!

Malaysians have never been big on conservation or recycling.

We have recycling bins placed at the weirdest places, such as the front entrance(or side entrance) of Jaya Jusco (Kinta City) in Ipoh, where we are expected to carry our rubbish (all sorted out in order of bottles, paper and what not) and lug them to the front/side entrance of the mall and deposit them in there. I mean who would not want to get all dressed up for shopping and while you're on the way inside the mall, you carry rubbish for disposal and deposit them in the bins in the name of saving the environment?![Its a fantastic idea I tell you. I wonder if all other countries place their recycling bins in the perfect spots just as our country does- HAH!How clever are WE?!]

Now they also offer re-useable bags as an alternative to plastic bags. I first saw them being offered in Bangsar Village and they cost RM5. And now Jusco has them too, for a mere RM2. Many people have written in to newspapers calling for the Management of shopping malls to offer these bags for free(for obvious reasons), in order for the customers to choose to use them over plastic bags. If you think about it, while you're standing at the counter paying for your groceries, and the lady asks if you would like to BUY a reusable bag for RM2, OR get the plastic one for free, how many of you (honestly) will say, "give me the bag for RM2"?
A majority of us will say " HAH? RM2? TENTULAH PLASTIK!PERCUMA-MA!"

So what was my point again? Right, that Malaysians are not big on conservation. After all, we have never been encouraged to recycle and reuse. I am not solely blaming the Government for not doing enough (though I think they are NOT doing enough) because we each as individuals should also make an effort to recycle and reuse.

SO you see, I would like to share this UBER creative idea by the Japanese people.

As reported in the Sun today:-

"SOLAR BRA FOR CONSERVATION"

Lingerie maker Triumph International Japan unveiled its environmental-friendly, and green-coloured, Solar Power Bra(must be yelled out along the lines of yelling ULTRAMAN GABAN!) recently in Tokyo which features a solar panel worn around the stomach.

But as the panel requires light to generate electricity, the concept bra will not be in stores anytime soon as "people usually (important to note,its not always, but USUALLY)cannot go outside without wearing clothes over it" .

But it DOES send the message how lingerie could possibly SAVE THE PLANET(ala, SAVE THE CHEERLEADER SAVE THE WORLD!!). The bra however should not be washed or sunned on a rainy day to avoid damaging it. (How can it be SUNNED on a rainy day?) [italics and bold are my own]

See how the Japanese people are trying to be more environmentally friendly? Now if my bra can generate electricity on its own (who cares about partial nudity in public? ITS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT PEOPLE!Get with the programme!) I can charge my mobile phone batteries on the run. I will NEVER EVER run of battery power. Its like "hello? Oh wait, my phone battery is running low, hold on while I hook it up to my SOLAR POWER BRA(!!)to charge it!"

And if its possible to hook it up to a coffee machine, imagine how much money you can also save by making your own coffee. Even better, if you could have electric cars, you can charge the car just by hooking it up to the bra!
THE POSSIBILITIES (and potential) ARE ENDLESS!!

My very own budget

Here is my very own list of things the Government can do to tighten their belts:-

1. All Ministers trade in their luxury cars and drive a Proton. In order of importance, PM gets a Perdana V6, DPM gets Waja Campro. All other Ministers get Gen-2/Persona and the Deputy Ministers can drive a Satria.

2. Send all Ministers for a holiday together-gether in Pangkor/Penang/Redang. It is in line with VISIT MALAYSIA year AND it saves the taxpayer a heck load of money AND it fosters better understanding among themselves.

3. All Ministers must give up their drivers. They have to start driving the cars themselves. It saves our taxpayers money and they can feel how it truly is to be Malaysian by driving their Perdana/Waja/Gen-2/Persona/Satria and experience it first hand how the automatic window dies on you and the bumper falls off after a slight bump .

4. No more police escorts whenever they want to go somewhere. They have to sit in the jam just like the rest of us. (Oh wait, this does not technically save any money but heck, its MY list and I sure as hell think it should be in it!)

5. No campaigns to launch stupid things like a new Malaysia Boleh song, or a new National Day song. Firsly because it always sucks. The tune and the words suck. And secondly, we do not care. We do not know how to sing it and frankly we do NOT want to sing it. So why bother launching something we Malaysians do not care about?

6. The Agong's birthday should ALWAYS, ALWAYS fall on a working day and should be a public holiday. We frankly do NOT care about the stupid processions, and the money wasted on jet plane fuel flying and performing stunts and money to decorate the whole Dataran Merdeka. What we really want is a public holiday. That is how WE (okay maybe just ME) would like to celebrate the Agong's Birthday. Seriously.

7. We also could not care less about the National Day Parade. All the processions are stupid and it causes people's children to be burnt under the sun for no reason. Instead of using the money for stupid processions, we would prefer if the Government save the money on the processions and just instruct all private companies such as Astro, Maxis, Digi and whatnot, to give all services for free for that one day in the name of being Malaysian.

8. Ask the cosmonaut to give all the cash he will receive from the book he is selling (if there are any sales at all) back to the Government to repay the money we used to send him there.

9. Ask those damned scholarship holders to come back and work here in Malaysia. And whoTF cares if you are married and waiting for your spouse. You use our taxpayers money to study overseas, you jolly well bring your ass back here and work for the Government. And make those who have been offered a scholarship sign an undertaking to come back or pay back and if they do not, their parents should be declared a bankrupt and not allowed to travel out of Malaysia unless and until they pay back the costs of their studies. Yes I am serious.

10. Stop building stupid universities or colleges just so you can allow more unqualified stupid people to get useless, worthless degrees. Instead of spending on building building and building, use the money wisely on improving the current universities and colleges.

11. Spend money only on athletes who are worthy. Nicol David, Josiah Ng, those badminton dudes and girls, our swimmers and divers. Those who actually WIN something when they go overseas and whose training actually produces results. Our football team sucks. BIG TIME. Stop sending them anywhere. Stop giving them money for being the suckiest football team in Asia.

12. Stop launching stupid "Anti Rasuah" and Ops Sikap and Ops this and Ops that and then print T-shirts, make badges and print banners to tell Malaysia of it. We can do without these stupid shoutouts. We just want the authorities to NOT take bribes. We do not need a campaign to tell us that. We do not need the policeman to wear a badge saying he is "ANTI-RASUAH". Save the money. Just tell them to don't bloody do it.

For now, this is the 12 I can think of.

I am sure there are many more out there and with more brilliant ideas on how the Government can save money and ubah cara hidup.

40% from me, 10% from you?

OOOOHhHHH, NOW I get it.

They RAISE petrol prices by 40%, ask us to tighten our belts by 40% just so our expenditure balances and we do not go into deficit, but they themselves only reduce their excessive spending by 10% for useless things.

So here is a list of some BELT-TIGHTENING measures which the PM has introduced to save RM2 billion of US TAXPAYER'S money.

A) Entertainment allowance for cabinet ministers and deputy ministers cut by TEN PERCENT
- Wahlau, now the PM only has RM16,978.50, and Najib only has RM13,513.50, ministers only have RM11,088.00 and the deputy ministers only have RM5400 to spend on entertainment.
( What type of entertainment allowance are we talking about? Who is auditing these expenses? If I were a Minister and I bring my family for a dinner at Sudu in Hilton and come up with a bill of RM3000, is that considered "entertainment?" Who is overlooking the authencity of the claims?)

B) PAID ANNUAL vacations for ministers and deputy ministers limited only to Asean countries and domestic destinations, and only for a week.
- Firstly, I didnt know they have PAID ANNUAL vacations. And I did NOT know they used to go overseas with OUR DAMN MONEY. HELLO? WHY do they need PAID ANNUAL VACATIONS? WHY are WE paying for their damn vacations?? Lest the current government forget, you are suppose to SERVE US, not the other way around! SOB!
And now just because you limit it to Asean and domestic destinations we are suppose to jump on our feet and yell Hallelujah?

C) DEFERMENT of purchases of assets like cars, furniture, computers and office equipment.
- The important word here being DEFERMENT. Which also means, they pretend to NOT buy them now, and when the rakyat is no longer scrutinizing the budget as closely as before, they go on a spree. OR they use this deferment time to think of BETTER excuses to the reason why Ministers need BMWs, Mercedes, and other types of luxury cars available in the market.
(Like hello Mr. PM, you so DAMN PROUD to be Malaysian why isn't your official car a Waja? Or a Gen-2? Or the new Proton whatchamacallit which is worth RM80k?)

D) No expensive gifts.
- Er, what is classified as EXPENSIVE? And what gifts are we talking about? Who is receiving it? Who is buying it? WTF IS IT?

And this is only a snippet of the BELT TIGHTENING measures which the PM has ingeniously come up with to save RM2 BILLION.

Now, it is clear to ME these expenditures are not necessary. (I do not know about the rest of you)To me, it is NOT necessary for ministers to be sent on holidays (they can use they own damn money to finance their own damn holidays)and it is not necessary for entertainment allowances to be given to the Ministers. IT IS NOT NECESSARY. So you increase the petrol price by 40% and you cut your own allowances by 10% and reduce what in the first place is NOT necessary from SUPER EXCESSIVE to just plain excessive?

What are you expecting from the rakyat? GLORY HALLELUJAH?

The current government is a joke. You spend our money like water and you come up with a reduction of what I would term a "blatant misuse of fund" measures supposedly to "ubah cara hidup" in line with what the rakyat has to do?

Spare me the theatrics.

If there is one thing more obvious than the wig on Lim Kok Wing's head, is the fact that our beloved PM is not a man of his word. Remember those days not so many donkey months ago where he assured us that the rumour of a petrol hike was the "oppositions' way to discredit the BN"?

And then yesterday he announces that due to the rising costs of fuel in the world, the Government can no longer afford to subsidise fuel as it could previously? And that the costs of fuel did a triple jump and landed at RM2.70? But you know, its still cheaper than other countries (who do not produce their own fuel but is used for comparison just because they share boundaries with us and is lumped together as South East Asia)? In theory, even with my limited economic, number crunching, lack of mathematical skill half functioning brain, I can figure out that IF the costs of fuel in the world is soaring, it would automatically mean that Malaysia, as a country that produces oil/fuel should be laughing with glee because we export good fuel to other countries and import shi-no, I mean crap, no, I mean..yes I mean shitty ones for our own people. Right? I mean I MAY be wrong, but I am pretty sure that is how it works.

So how is the subsidy cut justifiable? And what happened to the promise he made the last time about upgrading the public transport? As far as I know, the Putra line still stops at Kelana Jaya, the Star Line stops at Ampang and Bukit Jalil (I forgot the one after Bukit Jalil) and the Komuter still takes forever to arrive anywhere and the Monorail requires a mad dash across the road in the rain to actually get there.
Upgrade?

The only upgrade that anybody has experienced since Bodohwi has taken over, is only himself and he now has a Jeanne, he has his own plane to fly around for his many holidays and his son in law somehow ends up richer and richer everyday through his many "successful" business ventures.

For the rest of us, this is what we have, which includes but is not limited to:-

1) Cost of petrol eventually hitting the ceiling cost of who-knows-how-much;
2) A dead Mongolian and her remains somewhere in Shah Alam and a bunch of loser policemen investigating it;
3) Rising costs of food, electricity, water and whatevernot we require to survive;
4) Proton cars selling at RM80k eventhough its 1/3rd the quality of imported cars;
5) Riots, riots and more riots;
6) ISA is suddenly the best invention ever when there is opposition to BN;
7) OSA is the second best invesntion when there is sinister truth to be buried in the ground never to be heard again and
8) A Malaysian astronaut sent to space at the costs of who knows how much and who knows for what.

I cannot WAIT for our PM's next set of promises!

When push comes to shove...

Sometimes, we have to take charge.

Sometimes, we just have to learn to step forward and take the lead.

Sometimes, when push comes to shove, we have to be ready to be a leader, and not merely a follower.

And the reason I am being philosophical about this?

Five suspected mainland Chinese prostitutes were left screaming on board a speeding boat on rough seas after is coxswain (cox wha-?I know, a quick look at the dictionary revealed that it means 'helmsman of a rowed boat')jumped overboard during a police chase in HK waters.

Marine officers had to leap on to the speedboat (it cant be going THAT fast then if they can leap on to the boat right?) to stop its engine as (and here comes the best part) the five women CLUNG SCREAMING ON TO THE BOAT.

Ohhkkaaayyy.

Now, if I were on a boat, and the man steering the boat jumps off the boat, my first thought would be to rush towards the steering wheel to try to control the boat, or at least step on the brakes or even turn the engine off.

But that is me-la.

Obviously those "suspected prostitutes" thought it better to CLING to the boat and scream themselves hoarse. Nobody was in the right mind to step up and take charge of the situation.

It just makes me ponder, at 9am in the morning, of how sometimes we just have to step up and take the lead. While we are comfortable in some situations in life for someone else to be at the helm, when the situation warrants it, we have to be bold enough to take charge.

That I suppose applies to our current political situation as well. If your leader is no longer performing, or in this situation has jumped off the boat (to distract the policeman who had to stop the speeding boat while he tries to swim away), SOMEBODY should step up to the plate and take charge.

After all, that is better than clinging to the boat and screaming like a bunch of wusses, rite?

I think so.

RM8m out of RM700m?Its just a drop in the bucket!

You know someone is deluded when they are former state excutive councillors, no longer in the ruling party of the state, and cannot come up with a justifiable reason as to how and why they spent RM8 million of the rakyat's money, when they say that leaders of the Pakatan Rakyat state government should stop misleading the public on the money spent by them and warned that "if they continue with their finger pointing (and witch hunting), legal action will be taken against them."

Now, that is what I call the epitome of delusion.

Now this Datuk Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir has gone to the media to warn the PKR leaders in Perak that they should stop criticising the previous BN administration just for political mileage. According to him, the PKR leaders were on a finger pointing frenzy to divert the people's attention from having to explain their non-performance in their first 100 days of their administration.

"They are desperate for issues. They are looking for a smokescreen because they have not come up with anything for the people."

Because you see, according to the former state executive councillor, the RM8 million which was allocated for the small projects development fund was used up in roughly 60 days because it was spent to repair community halls and drains, and were channeled into 30 projects like repairing roads and buildings.

And the fact that it was used in the first three months of the year eventhough it was supposed to be for the WHOLE year of 2008, and coincidentally the general election JUST SO happens to be in March, does not mean that the money was used for the election campaign. It was just a mere coincidence.

Just a coincidence that prior to the General Election(GE), all the drains and buildings were allegedly repaired. Coincidentally, prior to the GE each state exco member was allocated RM100,000 in addition to the RM75,000. Coincidently, just before the GE, the state government was NICE enough to use up the RM8million allocated in the first three months to actually benefit the rakyat! We in Perak are such a lucky lot! Perak Nombor 1! *cue Perak No.1 song*

But seriously.

Come on, RM8 million is heck of a lot of money. Even if the former state executive council members may justify that "what is RM175,000 when spread over a population of 200,000 in my constituency?"

Yes, what is it indeed?

Let see, if the WHOLE RM8million was spent in the first three months, what happens in the next 9 months to come? What happens if more important things happen to roll along and GOD FORBID may require money to be spent?

I lived in Ipoh, and I go back to Ipoh every other week. And every time I am there, I do not see any "small projects" being undertaken in Ipoh. The roundabouts remain the same, the roads remain the same (and frankly, the road right in front of the MB's house needs a major repair job. Seriously.), the deplorable state of the town remains the same and besides an absolutely useless flyover near Jalan Golf, everything else remains the same. In fact the only small project I can think of which was implemented was the parking book project. Where a lot of money was/is spent printing those stupid booklets which require quite an amount of mental prowness to figure out how to scratch the correct time and the correct date, display it on your dashboard, and then having to run out and repeat steps above when time runs out. Like HELLO? Humans are at the brink of being replaced by robots here and we are still doing the scratch and display ticketing system?! The ONLY thingamajic I want to scratch is when it says scratch AND win and I actually DO win something. OK?

How about saving the environment here? Ever heard of an electronic parking system where you just put money into the machine, punch your car number and lot number and then skip off into the sunset?

So really, PKR leaders are not looking for issues, they are not hoodwinking us Perak people by this so called "witch hunting" exercises. They are ACTUALLY doing something worthwhile for us. They are actually letting us into the elite world of the BN spending and where the money goes. They are actually announcing to us that hey look, the money that you have worked hard for every day, slogging in the office for 8 hours a day, in which a majority of which ends up as taxes, is actually POSSIBLY, being misused by these people who are suppose to have your interests at heart.

These type of finger pointing frenzy, I like.

These type of witch hunting exercise, I welcome with open arms.

And if indeed PKR leaders are so called "liars because we (previous BN administration) left about RM700 million in the state coffers", well, only time will tell.

But for now, I want to jump unto the bandwagon in this bandit catching exercise. Come on people!

Aiya, so ugly! I dont want la!

Just recently, in an online legal classified, a law firm advertised a vacancy in its firm and as one of its requirements, it laid down that potential candidates should be "nice looking".

The furore it created in the legal circle was to some, understandable, considering that in this time and age, people should not discriminate based on looks, wealth or what-not.

So the NYLC (National Young Lawyers Committee for the uninformed) President/Chairman issued a public statement asking for the removal of this advertisement as it was insulting and degrading to judge a potential candidate on his or her looks. And that after all "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" and one should be judged based on their qualifications and their ability to perform at their jobs.

Frankly, I do not see the insulting or degrading part in the ad. So the firm wants to their lawyers to look "nice". So they prefer pretty or handsome looking lawyers over fugly ones. So they want their firm represented by hot chicks and hot guys. They want the firm to look good from the outside with well dressed, immaculate, non-asthetically challenged guys and girls. So, what is the problem?
It IS their firm isnt it? It IS their business and their rice bowl right? Isnt it their right to pick and choose as they like? Why must they adhere to the standards of being "politically correct"?

How many of you are ignorant of the fact that many law firms discriminate against CLP-graduates and UK Bar graduates? What does the NYLC say about that? Are those who are Bar grads better equipped at handling the law than the CLP grads? And some discriminate against those who obtained their legal degrees overseas against those who did it externally. What difference is there? They are both equally good degrees.
So, just because its not politically correct to discriminate based on looks, it is suddenly wrong? When discrimination based on "local" and overseas grads happen ALL the time? Is that politically incorrect too? Who is standing up for external CLP grads? NYLC? I think not. They are too busy making comments about how "beauty should be in the eyes of the beholder".

If I want to discriminate against ugly, I shall.
If I want to discriminate against stupidity, I can.
If I want to discriminate against one's sexuality, I am allowed.
Why shouldnt I?
Of course whether I DO discriminate against them is a different matter altogether. But I should be given the liberty to.

I represent myself. I represent my own business and my own interests. However, if I put myself in a public position such as being elected as MP for the constituent of say, Jinjang (if such a place actually is considered a constituency) then I cannot say I discriminate against Ah Bengs and Ah lians (yes, it is a generalisation of all people in Jinjang- my bad) when I choose councillors or whom I want to help.

But if its a private entity, should I not be allowed to run MY business the way I want it to be? The way I envisioned it to be?

What if the legal ad had placed "only ugly need apply" would the rest of the legal fraternity get their panties in a bunch?

I placed a comment on the discussion board of the legal circle on this issue and got hit from left and right. They yelled that I am promoting discrimination in terms of religion, sexual preference and race.

So examples of the Government discriminating against non Bumis. I have been vocal about this, but I think there is a demarcation here.

That being the Government is there to serve the people, without fear or fervour. Without discrimination. To serve the rakyat and not a section of the rakyat. So, therein lies the BIG difference of why one can discriminate and the other cannot and should not.

I stand by what I believe. It is quite exhausting nowadays to be so politically correct. We are no longer entitled to discriminate- whether it be wrong or right. After all, to each its own. Just as we choose our friends, people can choose whom they want to employ.

I have yet to find a person SO perfect as to be able to declare, I do not discriminate against ANYBODY or ANYTHING. (Ok, maybe Mother Theresa, but hey, who knows for sure?)

We ALL do. It is just whether we say it, or merely think it.

Badawi vs Mahathir. FIGHT!

I tried.

I tried to ignore the newspapers. I tried to refrain from glancing at the headlines when I am at the book store. I tried to switch the channels everytime the news come on.

I tried.

And STILL I cannot ignore the happenings in Malaysia for the past week.

And so, I am back, but perhaps with just a little less anger, but more annoyance.

It is quite obvious from my previous posts that I am not pro Bodo- I mean, Badawi. I guess you can say I lean more on the side of Mahathir. However, in the past few weeks I have to seriously rethink my stance in regard to these two men.

Now, many have exclaimed that Mahathir has made a fool of himself with all his statements and calls for Badawi to step down as PM. For me, I feel he has reached a point in his life, where after 22 years as PM, many years as a politician, having lived through 1969, the Semangat 46, the expulsion from UMNO and what not, he can say whatever he wants. After all, these are his own thoughts and opinions. And for Gods sake, he is already in his 80s. Let the man yell whatever he wants. What has he got to lose?
Many of you will say he has lost respect and many say he should have resigned quietly and gone into hiding, with reputation intact.

However, if you think about it, Tun has never been one to retreat into anywhere quietly is he? He did not back down when faced with the pegging of the RM issue. He did not back down when there was an economic crisis and he sure as hell did not give two hoots to his detractors when they questioned his loans amounting to billions to finance KLIA, Sepang and the Twin Towers. And in the end, Malaysia emerged stronger economically, and tourism has been boosted 1000 fold. Of course, the VK Lingam tape has caused a major stain in Mahathir's 22 years. (I do not want to revisit the Salleh Abbas issue) but at the end of the day, the people who are most answerable are the judges who have meted out the judgments in favour of benefits to themselves. But that is another issue to be discussed in another post.

So now, why is Tun so pissed off with Badawi? Obviously the big loss in the General Election is a big indication of Badawi's leadership skills. I mean, Tun must be REALLY pissed to quit UMNO.(Sure, trust Tun to have a flair for dramatics) So is this the right thing to do? To publicly show one's disfavour for the country's leader? I say, yes and no.

Yes, because Tun is a voice of so many of us. So many of us want change, we went to the polls and we chose and we made some changes, but the constitution is still intact, UMNO President remains the PM. So in a way, Tun is helping us push for change (albeit with means which may at times seem questionable)

And a No, because all these public spats are becoming such an annoying occurence. You cannot open up a newspaper every day without Tun berating Badawi or UMNO. Sometimes we have to say, ENOUGH ALREADY. We GET IT. MAHATHIR+BADAWI = bad chemistry.

So what then is the conclusion of the whole story? My stance remain that I still lean in favour of one man over the other. But I think at this point in time, both men are not doing the country any favours. If only loyalty to one's party can take second place to the love of the country and the people. If only one does not allow personal feelings to cloud one's judgment of a person. If only one would step up and be a leader of the nation instead of being in denial. If only one could admit their mistakes and be humble about it. If only, we had a choice as to whom we want to lead our country.

If only, if only, if only.

Life would perhaps be a little easier for all of us.

The fear of self combustion

And many have mentioned that they are afraid I will soon self combust and die in a fiery ball of anger.

Hence, I think it is time for me to retreat into the cave of calmness, serenity and acceptance(of all things wrong and evil).

Many of us have been in a situation whereby we tell person A that we are hanging out with person B when in fact we are out partying with person C. And of course the smart ones will tell person B about this "cover up" storyline. You know, just in case person A calls and asks for us and person B can cook up a " I think she went to the loo" or "damn, I just walked away from her for a while, can she call you back?".

We all anticipate this verification of the story line and hence that is why we always, ALWAYS inform person B of it. We dont leave Person B in the dark and expose her to a call from person A asking where we are and her going "HUH?"

Why am I rambling on about something which has obviously confused all of you with so many persons and so many alphabets?

BALKIS.(Association of Wives of State Assemblymen and Members of Parliament in Selangor- I know. Like WTF? They have an association for THIS? Apparently they do.)

You see, the Wife of Former Menteri Besar of Selangor, one Datin Seri Zaharah Kechik transferred RM9.9 million (of Balkis's money) to another association Bakti (Federal Organisation of Wives of Ministers- repeat exclamation of incredulousness above) three days after Selangor fell to the Opposition in the general election. And then the previous committee tries to dissolve the assocation and set up a new body- Balkis-BN (fuyoo!Like ULTRAMAN-GABAN)

So obviously many people are of the thinking that this MUST be illegal. After all, how can you transfer money as and when you like it?

So Wife of Former Menteri Besar of Selangor Datin Zaharah said that following the dissolution of the Association(which she says she had power to do), the RM9.9m were transferred to Bakti according to Article 15(2) of the Balkis Constitution (wahlau DAMN impressive, she actually read up the Balkis Constitution)and that if we the rakyat doubt her, she can prove that the auditors have been consulted and everything was in order.

And today on the front page of the newspapers, the auditor says HAH? . We were not consulted (okay, crudeness was inserted by me- just for effects).

So you see, if I were Wife of Former Menteri Besar of Selangor, I would have at least told the auditors, "hey look. I told them you were consulted. So you say you were and I will share a little of the RM9.9m with you-la. We together-gether benefit ma.

But instead, the auditor was OBVIOUSLY left in the dark. Oblivious to everything that was going on. And only learning of the alleged( see, I am politically correct, I do not make wild allegations until its proven) illegal transfer of money was brought to light last Friday.

So Wife of Former Menteri Besar of Selangor, how now brown cow?

How to explain the transfer of money and the dissolution?

I already have my popcorn and coke ready for the sandiwara that is to come!

There are crap apologies, and then there is Hishamuddin stupid, can-you-BE-more-insincere apology.

What type of an apology is this?

I apologise to the non-Malays if they felt afraid of the symbol?

It is the type of apology which is classified under "I am sorry you are such a jerk." or "I am sorry I said what I said and made you cry because I should have known that you're a sensitive bitch" or perhaps even "Please accept my sincerest apologies for doing what I did. I am truly sorry you are too stupid to understand why I did it."

But before that, since WHEN is the keris a symbol of the Malay heritage or UMNO's struggle? Just because it is customary for UMNO to kiss it and raise it and whatever else they do to it before the UMNO meeting starts, does NOT make it a symbol of Malay heritage which requires "defending" (WTF does this even mean? Raising it and yelling like a mad cow constitutes defending it?)Okay, so maybe I might be wrong. But this really is the first time I hear of the need to "defend" it.

But anyway, moving along.

We are NOT afraid of your damn symbol ok? Did you hear that, let me repeat that, we are not NOT afraid of the symbol you hold so highly and revere.

In the first place, there is nothing to fear. It is a thing. An object. (Attaching sentiments to it does not automatically make it something to be feared- it is still an object,a lifeless object) The only thing we fear is the fact that you are our Education Minister and you waving a keris yelling BLOOD does not augur well for the Non-Malays in our already rapidly declining education system.

And just because you make your yearly rounds to Chinese or Tamil schools, smiling, cutting ribbons, and making generally nice comments about these schools, does not mean you do not, in the privacy of your own home (or in PWTC during UMNO assemblies) call for slaughter of Non-Malays(symbolically or otherwise).

We know better. And that is why we made it known to you, LOUD AND CLEAR in the general election that you can shove your keris up your you know where.

And of course, the question of why it took you so long to issue an apology (an insincere one at that) is a mystery. It is a mystery because as Education Minister, we thought you have more brains (of course, many a times, we are wrong to assume politicians have brains) and thought process to sit down and think the BEST time to apologise for the keris wielding exercise is probably right after it happened. Not a year and a half later, or after UMNO's dismal performance at the general election.

Understandbly,your reason for this delayed apology is because:-

"the issue was not as big as it was made out to be.

But the reality is such, and I am not someone who is so filled with pride or arrogance that I cannot accept this fact."

Pride and arrogance is ALL you have, our dear Education Minister.

Because if you had indeed been as humble and sincere as you want us to think you are, you would not even have to issue this insincere apology (for whatever it is worth).

Because you would have never done the wrong you have done in the first place.

Why I envy Penang (Just this ONE time)

THIS is probably the only time I envy Penang.
(I mean, prior to this, I never envied their bad traffic, their bridge woes, their dirtied beaches and their bad drivers.)

But now, I envy that they have a man, who is above the rest. A man, who actually stands out and ABOVE all petty politicking. A man who truly believes he serves the interest of the state and the nation above his own. A man who made the bold decision to quit his party because "BN had never had the policy of working with an Opposition party".(BN supporters? Do you hear that? Its not about what is best for you as citizens. It is ALL about what is best for the party.)

Someone whom we can finally heave a sigh of relief because he actually exsists and wants to serve the country. And its not about which party he belongs to, and what party interests he has to serve, and its not all about TALKING about serving the people(subject to it being within party limits) but actually DOING it.

A true statesman indeed.

A round of applause for this great man.

So can this man live up to the heavy burden placed on his shoulders? Many doubt his abilities. Many yell that he has NO experience. And to this, I ask, did the ex Chief Minister have any experience prior to being elected to the Penang's Development Corporation? Not that I know of. Did Penangnites give him a chance? They sure did. Did the BN people shout obscenities of his inexperience? Not that I heard of.

Let us see whether he can perform in his new shoes. His heart and his head is in the right place. That already scores brownie points with me.

Penang, I envy you. Just this once.

Eh, you Malaysian meh?

By now, all of us know that one Mongolian woman by the name of Altantuya is dead. And she was allegedly killed by three Malaysians. And one of these three Malaysians allegedly did it at the behest of some top politician. The trial is still ongoing. (its going into its 107th day now I think)

And while many of us were excited to know the outcome initially, many of us really couldnt care less about it anymore. (yes, such is the mundane nature of a real non-tv related trial- no SURPRISE witnesses, no SURPRISE finger pointing no JENG JENG JENG moments where some surprise exhibit is tendered or a witness swooshes through the front door).

What irks me is the family of this murdered lady. First his father complains that the trial is taking very long. Like hello? Other people in MALAYSIA have to have their trial go on too you know? What your daughter is the only murder victim in the country?

And then he goes to the media and complains about how he finds it hard to "pick up the pieces emotionally and financially". And that Altantuya's children are missing her, one has an enlarged head from fluid retention, the other had to be tutored privately because he could not stand the jibes he got from school due to his mother's death (what jibes? that she is dead? that I suppose IS cruel). AND of course there is the disappointment with the Malaysia NGOs.

And I quote from the Sun :-
" Shariibuu said he was disappointed that the Malaysian non-government organisations (NGOs) had not spoken up or offered any assistance to the family, while the Malaysian media has been potraying Altantuya in a bad light."

AND

"When it came to one prostitute in UK, the whole country and Umno was talking about helping her and sending assistance for her, but here we have two children who have lost their mother and nobody does anything."

Okay, uncle. Just FYI,

Firstly, your daughter (and yourself and your grandchildren) are NOT MALAYSIANS? HELLO? Just because she was allegedly killed IN malaysia does not automatically mean she is entitled to be OFFERED any help by the Malaysian Government (or NGOs). What do you think? That us Malaysians OWE you something? We work hard to earn our money. We pay our taxes and just because 3 men of Malaysian origin ALLEGEDLY killed her, we surrender our money to HELP YOU?

Call me selfish. Call me whatever you like. But I am NOT surrendering any help or agreeing to any help being given to you. Sorry. Many other people IN Malaysia, who ARE Malaysians need more help than you. Many Malaysians live below the poverty line, many are struggling everyday, and you, YOU who can travel all the way from Mongolia every time there is a trial, want us to help you financially?

And FYI, many Malaysians have gone overseas and committed crimes and have been caught there, and the Malaysian government has been consistent in its stance that we will not extend any help to them. If you dare commit the crime, then you must serve the time. Period.

What am I getting it? Well, I am just saying that many Malaysians are waiting and hoping for help by the Malaysian government, but they do not get it (whether they deserve it or not) and here you are, a Mongolian citizen, DEMANDING us to offer help and BERATING us for not helping you?

Come on. Dont make me slap you around and call you Shabu-Shabu.

And secondly, you have to be very clear that UMNO offered to help that Sufiah girl in the UK. Not the rakyat. They do NOT speak for us. And Malaysians have this tendency to tumpang glamour when we know of any famous/infamous person who has 1/800th of Malaysian blood. (OH GUY SEBASTIAN!He used to be taken care of by Malaysian god parents, MALAYSIAN! Oh Che'nelle!She stayed in Sabah for 9 years!MALAYSIAN!)

Anyway, I digress.

My point is, yes, Sufiah should not be offered ANY help. In the first place, she does NOT need help. Prostitution is a choice. (To me anyway, many people may disagree) So she might not have made the best choice, but she still made a choice which she is entitled to. And besides, what type of help are we talking about here? Brainwash? Offer her money so that she doesnt have to sell her body? Come on. She has the brains. She CAN make the money without selling her body. She just does not want to.
So let her be.

Oh wait, I digress again.

Okay, my REAL point is, Mr. Shaariibu, who are YOU to make judgment calls on Malaysia? We want to help Sufiah? So what? We do not want to help you? SO WHAT? We are entitled to! Its our damn money!

While we are sorry your daughter was murdered, allegedly by 3 Malaysians, we do NOT owe you anything.

Today the headlines screamed this:-

RAFIDAH'S REMINDER...UMNO's Iron Lady Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz says:-

"Remember, we are not changing the(Umno) President, we are changing the prime minister. Other parties can change their president tomorrow they can tell their president to go today, not Umno. We are talking about the prime minister and this country has never had a prime minister who has been pushed out in our history, always remember that."

I am SO thankful that we have Iron Lady (how is she an iron lady? Cos she spews nonsense out of her mouth with no consequences? Or that she managed to hold on to her position even with the AP fiasco?) to go to the Media and remind us of the obvious. Like, how lucky are we??
Some of us might have forgotten our beloved PM is actually the President of UMNO. Or that when we ask for beloved PM to step down, we are not just asking him to vacate the post of UMNO President but also as PM. So these sort of reminders are timely and appreciated.

To say Iron Lady is stating the obvious is an understatement. To say she is uttering nonsense is even more of an understatement.

Seriously Iron Lady, we the rakyat are not as stupid as you think we are. May we also send a few reminders to you.

No.1: History never had a PM whose wife died and he married his ex sister in law while still serving as PM;

No.2: History of Malaysia never had a PM who managed to singlehandedly incite more riots and street protests in his short tenure;

No.3: History of Malaysia never had a PM who listen and acts according to his son in law (but live in denial that he might actually be more stu- I mean, not as clever as he thinks he is)

But it still happened didnt it?

So, Iron Lady, YOU remember this:-

History cannot be changed (unless it involves Hang Tuah and his glorious life being taught in History classes until it was discovered he might be Chinese and swiftly removed from the History Books as being irrelevant to the History of Malaysia). However the Future can. We learn from History. We do not emulate the historical past. And we sure as hell do NOT, stick to what does not work in the past. We improve.

Just because it never happened before does not mean it can never happen.
(Please Iron Lady, go and read your World History. The Revolution? Ever heard of that? The Communist Party taking over China? Things change.)

Just because the PM happens to be the President of UMNO and you UMNO people do not remove your president as you like (cos you are all lalang and will pledge your support for whomever is in power just so your pockets remain full and your children remain well provided for) does not mean he should not be removed.

He is the PM first and foremost. If he fails in his duty while wearing that nametag, he should step down. And if that means he vacates his UMNO presidency, so be it.

UMNO does NOT rule us. UMNO is not the Government. We do not care what happens in UMNO.

We care about whether the PM is working or not. We care about whether he is fulfilling his promises. We care about ourselves. And are we being selfish? Yes. Do we have the right to be? YES. Its OUR country. Its OUR wellbeing. OUR money and our economy and OUR future at stake.

So Iron Lady, do not remind us of things irrelevant to the wellbeing of Malaysia but only relevant to you and your blind loyalty to your President.

Just dont.

And remember this too:-

Remember the whole Terengganu MB fiasco?

Remember how our beloved PM chose candidate No.1 Mr. Jusoh, and how the Sultan of Terengganu(aka Agong) chose candidate No.2 Mr. Saad? And then all the UMNO members rallied behind their beloved UMNO president(because those people are "yes men" according to our beloved EX-PM and will bend like lalang whenever the wind blows) and cried that they will NOT support the Agong's choice but will stand behind Mr. Jusoh?

And did you know NONE of the mainstream media published all the wrongdoings of Mr. Jusoh? One Terengganu Newspaper detailed every single misappropriation of funds by Mr. Jusoh. From the Monsoon Cup to the Petronas subsidy. But mainstream media? None of that. All we get is, INFIGHTING BETWEEN PAS AND DAP. BN GETS SUPPORT BY RAKYAT. WE HEART PAK LAH. WE HEART BN.

Um, sorry. But some of us, do not HEART Pak Lah nor BN.

So they yelled and they scremed that it was not right for the Agong to interfere. They protested, they demonstrated. And what did the PM say of this bad behaviour and disrespect to the Agong? Nothing. But when Lim Kit Siang made a comment on his blog about his displeasure with the Sultan of Perak's decision to accept a PAS man as the MB of Perak, he was called disrespectful to the Sultan and asked to apologise.

To add insult to the injury, our beloved PM then looked the TV crew in the eyes(and straight into the cameara thrusted in his face) and said "ia tidak mengikut Perlembagaan Malaysia" ?

I nearly died laughing.

PERLEMBAGAAN?

When did this country EVER respected the Perlembagaan? I do not remember the PM citing the Perlembagaan when he ordered the people to be arrested under the ISA just because they took to the streets to yell that they want RM1 million compensation each(albeit a stupid request but apparently it was for a much bigger cause), or sprayed water cannons and tear gas into the Bersih rally (freedom of expression?), or disallowed the inter religious conference,or kept mum when there was a discussion about whether one can convert out of Islam, or when some idiot of a Minister yelled Malaysia was a ISLAMIC country and that if the rest of us were unhappy, we could leave or somehow spared the water cannons when his son in law and his posse marched in front of the KLCC Convention Centre to give a memo to Condoleeza Rice (who CARES for what?) and also spared the UMNO(and BN) supporters the rough treatment of dispersing the crowd when they gathered in front of Komtar?
Equality before the law? CONSTITUTION?

Where is the "TIDAK MENGIKUT PERLEMBAGAAN" comment that was much needed and desired from the PM?

We didnt get jackshit.

Instead we heard crickets. That or a deafening silence.

However, when you challenge his choice of candidate for an all important post right after he suffered a humiliating loss (loss to Non-BN supporters but still a STRONG SUPPORT win if you are pro BN) and have been asked to step down as UMNO president and as PM, suddenly there is talk of this all elusive Perlembagaan.

Its one of those things we have HEARD about it but never really knew whether it actually, truly, exists. Now, we know, it MIGHT exists. Because the PM actually mentioned it.

However, the PM soon suffered a memory loss and forgot all about the fact that he said it was unconstitutional. He comes before the rakyat and declares(semacam hero)that he RESPECTS the decision of the Agong, and that he will support whichever candidate that will be sworn in a MB and so all his posse quickly rallied behind him and started kissing Mr. Saad's hand. Oh, we will serve you. WE HEART SAAD!

It really sends shivers down my spine to know that this MAN, this MAN who claims to represent us, the one whom we think should know the law and the workings of the country at the back of his hand, might actually be, an empty husk.

And merely a puppet.

Waiting for the Politicians to grow up

Another DAP man quits. Then changes his mind. SIX hours later.
This is not a "I think I should eat that cake. No I shouldnt. No I should. NO I should. No wait, I will" scenario ok?

This is Politics. This is you, representing those who have VOTED for you, to speak on their behalf. This is you being responsible not only for you own wellbeing, but for many others. This is you being a representative. A YB. This is you, at least trying not be an idiot of a person you truly are.

So, what made him quit and change his mind 6 hours later?

He says he was unhappy with the fact that there is only ONE indian man on the Perak exco.(or was it there was None? I forget) Apparently this does not represent the many indians in Perak. He wanted MORE representation. So, because he didnt get what he wanted, he whined and pouted and quit.(If only Samy Vellu was a quitter we wouldnt have had to endure him for this many years but fret not because luck is finally on our side this year!)
If DAP-PKR-PAS were not dependent on the two seat majority to retain their power in Perak, I would say thank you very much you lousy candidate/respresentative, be gone and dont come back!

Come on, first Fong Po Kuan and now this??

Don't ANY of you actually know anything about being matured about something? About discussion? About negotiation? That you actually sit to think, hmm...why is there only one Indian man on the exco?(Or none, as mentioned above, I forget) Is it because there is a lack of Indians in the party? Is it because the Indian majority is smaller? Is there an oversight? Maybe I should speak to Lim Guan Eng.

Women are not well represented in the Exco, did the women MPs quit??
(On this point, I would like to point out to a certain article in Star which said that women were not well represented in Parliament and this article mentions that Rafidah Aziz being UMNO Wanita Prez should have been given a spot in cabinet, I say "PLEASE LADY!Do you NOT know what Rafidah has been doing???What has she done for women anyway???I am SO glad she is gone. Even with the AP issue, she still lingered around courtesy of our dear PM- at least he has smartened up a bit)

Did the women yell, shove and pout and tender their resignation?(Fong Po Kuan is a different story la cos she doesnt represent women. She represents herself and her interest only. Oh I quarreled with some people in DAP. I want to quit. I wont change my mind, I will stick to my decision..I will..OOOHHH...ok, I changed my mind. LALANG!)

You know what I think? I think politicians should just grow up. (No, its not a joke. I know many of you will laugh at the obviousness of this statement but I HAD to say it)Do not put yourself out to represent us when you are a man who cannot be rational.Someone who cannot even think of the Party as a whole and not only for himself. Someone who disrespects his leader. You say you can represent your people?

I do not know what the big fuss about the Judicial Fiasco of Tun Salleh Abbas is about. And I sure as hell do not know why some would call for an apology either by the current government or by the previous PM.

Seriously. It happened such a long time ago. And frankly, most of us either:-
1) Do not care, or
2) Have forgotten about it, or
3) Want to move on, or
4) Wish for the focus to be on the current state of judiciary than how it was before.

I fall under category 3 & 4. While I do not care deeply about it, I of course wished such a "fiasco" did not marr the judiciary of Malaysia. But then, we are suppose to MOVE ON. We learn from mistakes and we MOVE ON.

We dont come into a new Malaysia (or whatever they call it after March 8) and harp on PAST issues!We do not say MALAYSIANS HAVE SPOKEN! We are tired of the OLD SHIT! We want CHANGE! WE WANT A BETTER FUTURE! And then say, however, before that, lets revisit the past and ask for apologies.

Come on. Who the heck cares whether the government/ex PM apologises? Does it change anything? Does it automatically change the state of the Judiciary now? Does it make all appointments of judges now legitimate? I think the answer is obviously a resounding NO.

For me, I do not care much about what is to be done to "correct" the wrongs of the past. I want to know what can be done to correct the wrongs right before my eyes TODAY. NOW. Tell me why some lawyers without any criminal experience (and I mean WITHOUT/NIL/NADA) can be a High Court Judge deciding on the lives of people? Sending them to the gallows when frankly, she has been doing Family matters all these while when in private practice. Even we do not approach a conveyancing lawyer and ask him or her to help us fight a litigation. We find a litigation lawyer. And what more being placed before a person who will decide on your life or death. Does that not send shivers down your spine?

So really, give the apology thing a rest. Look to the future. Focus on the present. Give us something to chew on NOW. We want changes. We want things to improve for the better.

Yes, while some of us agree that an apology for past wrongs will ensure a smoother transition to improvements in the future, unfortunately, its too late now. Wrongs have been done. And frankly, all that happened was that some people lost their jobs. Albeit high ranking jobs. I think more importantly, there are some people NOW with their lives in the hands of incompetent ones. That I think is more important that losing one's job or pride.

Because you know, in Brooke Shield's words "once you are dead, you've lost a big part of your life".

Gosh, such wise words to live by.
